Vader’s flagship is finally getting the treatment it has deserved for fifteen years.
LEGO has revealed 75457 Executor Super Star Destroyer, a 6,130-piece Ultimate Collector Series monster that stretches 53.5 inches — 136 centimeters — from bow to stern. That makes it the longest brick-built LEGO Star Wars model the company has ever produced, and depending on how you count, arguably the longest official LEGO set of any theme. It arrives October 1, 2026 at $799.99, exclusive to LEGO.com and LEGO Stores.
If you own the 2011 original, this is not a re-release with a new sticker sheet. It’s a ground-up rebuild that is bigger in every dimension that matters.

Worth flagging one thing before the comment section does: 6,130 pieces is enormous, but it is not a LEGO record. The UCS Millennium Falcon still holds that crown. The record here is length — and at four and a half feet, it’s a record that’s going to be hard to take back.
How It Compares to 10221
The 2011 UCS Super Star Destroyer (10221) was, for a long time, the shelf-hogging trophy piece of the LEGO Star Wars line. Here’s how the new one stacks up:

Nearly double the piece count in a model that’s only about 11 cm longer. That math tells you exactly what LEGO did here: the extra 3,000 elements didn’t go into making it longer, they went into making it denser. More greebling, more structural integrity, a finer silhouette, and a hull that should hold its shape instead of sagging in the middle — which anyone who displayed the 2011 version for a few years will appreciate.
The price doubled too, and there’s no dressing that up. $799.99 is a serious ask. But it lands in the same neighborhood as the UCS flagships of the last several years, and per-piece it’s roughly in line with what UCS pricing has looked like lately.
Seven Minifigures — And Yes, That Means All of Them
This is the detail that made the fan community sit up.
75457 includes Darth Vader and all six bounty hunters from The Empire Strikes Back, together in a single set for the first time:

- IG-88 — featuring a brand-new molded head
- 4-LOM
- Zuckuss
The 2011 set gave you Vader and four bounty hunters. Getting the complete lineup — including 4-LOM and Zuckuss, who have historically been the hard ones to track down — is a genuine event for minifigure collectors. For a lot of people, that bridge scene lineup is going to be worth a meaningful chunk of the price on its own.
Fittingly, the set includes a minifigure-scale bridge display to stand them on. “You may dispense with the pleasantries, Commander” is one of the most quoted moments in the saga, and now you can build the room it happened in.
Build and Display Details
A few things stand out from what LEGO has shown so far:
System core, Technic outriggers. The Executor is built around a LEGO System spine with Technic elements bracing outward to carry the wings. At over 11 pounds and four and a half feet, structural engineering isn’t optional — this thing has to hold itself together on a shelf for years.
A new decorated tile, used 60 times. LEGO designed a new printed tile graphic specifically for this model’s hull lights and central detailing, and it appears sixty times across the build. That’s the kind of investment you make when you want the finished surface to read correctly from across a room.
A built-in display stand with a to-scale Star Destroyer. The stand includes a companion Imperial Star Destroyer built at the correct relative scale — which is the single most effective way to communicate just how absurdly large the Executor is supposed to be. That visual gag never gets old, and it’s the right call for a display piece.
Dense center, clean flanks. The design language here is heavy greebling concentrated down the spine with sleeker panels sweeping out to the edges, producing the razor-sharp arrowhead silhouette the ship is known for.
Gift With Purchase
Buy during the launch window and LEGO is including 40897 Darth Vader’s Lightsaber, a buildable display piece, free with purchase while supplies last.
One caution: sources differ slightly on how long that window stays open. LEGO’s own press materials indicate October 1–7, while some outlets have reported it running through October 10. Either way, the message is the same — if you want the lightsaber, don’t wait a week to think it over.
A Note on Release Dates
Most coverage points to October 1, 2026 as the launch date via LEGO.com and LEGO Stores. Some European reporting lists October 4 for general availability, with LEGO Insiders getting early access on October 1. If you’re outside the US, it’s worth checking your regional LEGO.com store page in late September rather than assuming.
Our Take (For Now)
The 2011 Super Star Destroyer was a landmark set, but it was also a product of its era — thinner, lighter on detail, and prone to droop. Fifteen years of design evolution have gone into 75457, and on paper LEGO has used every one of those extra 3,000 pieces on things that actually matter: rigidity, surface detail, silhouette accuracy, and a minifigure lineup that finally completes a roster fans have been assembling piecemeal for two decades.
The open questions are the ones you can’t answer from press images. How does the build actually feel across 6,130 pieces — is it well-paced, or is there a long tedious stretch of repetitive hull paneling in the middle? How stable is it once it’s off the workbench and on a shelf? And is there a realistic place in a normal home to display something four and a half feet long?
