The newest Galactic Legend character in Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes is Pirate King Hondo Ohnaka, added to the game in September 2025. A Galactic Legend variant of the fan-favorite Hondo Ohnaka, Pirate King Hondo Ohnaka is the main leader of the Pirate faction in Galaxy of Heroes. In SWGoH, Pirate King Hondo Ohnaka is a Dark Side Support character who has a Leader ability and fits into the Scoundrel and Smuggler factions as well. Let’s take a look at how we want to focus the mod stat gains for Pirate King Hondo Ohnaka in Galaxy of Heroes.

Main Mod Stats to focus on…
Pirate King Hondo Ohnaka is a Galactic Legend, and thus already has a significantly higher built in Speed stat, with the game’s best 408 speed before mods. As a result, there is no doubt that a Speed set is a must for Pirate King Hondo, but Speed is not the only stat to worry about. His basic grants a stack of Profit on a critical hit, and it can remove Turn Meter, and if he has 10+ stacks of Profit it is a guaranteed crit. His Charismatic Captain special helps allies recover Health and Protection, but his Leader ability grants added Defense and Tenacity, so when it comes to survivability, you can just stock up on all of these stats. His Leader ability also increases Speed and Offense for allies, so pretty much every stat should be a focus for Pirate King Hondo Ohnaka. Really helpful, right? Which Mod Sets to use & Dev Recommendations for Pirate King Hondo Ohnaka
Pirate King Hondo Ohnaka seems to have every major stat mentioned in his kit, but the Speed set is a must from your mods. While I recommend a Health set for the second mod set, I found a fast and strong Tenacity set that fit well and have stuck to it without any concerns. I would recommend this character be one you are picky with when it comes to which mods you use – get mods with high percentage stat gains from the secondary stats to maximize Pirate King Hondo’s effectiveness. Here are my recommendations for the best mods for Pirate King Hondo Ohnaka:
- Transmitter (Square) – The Transmitter mod always has a primary focus on offense. For Pirate King Hondo Ohnaka, you want to use a SPEED mod here and be sure to closely look at the secondary stats to ensure that you get a heavy secondary focus on speed and a high percentage stat of potency, critical chance, health, protection or defense.
- Receiver (Arrow) – The Receiver mod can have a primary focus on several stats including speed, critical avoidance, accuracy, health, protection, defense and offense.
