Star Wars Zero Company Patch 1.1: The TL;DR

Posted on September 11, 2026September 11, 2026 by ljcool110

Bit Reactor and EA pushed the first major update for Star Wars Zero Company on September 9, and it is a long one. The full notes run to well over sixty individual fixes, which is a lot to scroll through when all you really want to know is whether the thing that has been ruining your campaign got fixed.

Here is the short version, sorted by what actually matters.

The Big One: Crashes and Lost Saves

This is the headline. The patch opens with fixes for various crashes and visual stutters, and it addresses two problems that were genuinely campaign-ending.

Beskar saves were being temporarily deleted. If you were running the ironman mode where a single save file is the whole point, this was the worst possible bug in the game. That is fixed, along with a separate Beskar-specific crash.

Save corruption on sudden shutdown is also fixed. If your console or PC went down unexpectedly mid-session, your file could be damaged. Worth knowing if you have been closing the game in a hurry.

There is also a fix for a rare main menu softlock caused by mashing inputs during the opening cinematic, and a fix for players who never received their preorder or Deluxe Edition items. If you bought the Deluxe pack and never saw the cosmetic packs show up, check again.

The Combat Bug Everyone Complained About

Shots could miss at a displayed 100% chance to hit. That is fixed.

This one deserves its own heading because of how much it poisoned the experience. In a game where every action point is precious and permadeath is on by default, watching a guaranteed shot whiff was maddening — and it left players unsure whether the displayed numbers meant anything at all.

Overwatch Got a Serious Pass

Overwatch was misbehaving in several distinct ways, and the patch addresses most of them:

  • Enemies were firing through solid objects at operators they could not actually see.
  • Overwatch was triggering on units outside the targeting cone.
  • Various cases where enemies and operators were being hit unintentionally.

Notably, reports of Overwatch simply failing to trigger when enemies walked through a cone do not appear to be addressed here. So if that has been your problem, it may still be your problem.

Weapons and Abilities That Were Quietly Broken

Several of these were costing you damage without any indication:

  • Tier 2 through 4 Scatterguns were using Tier 1 values. If you upgraded a Scattergun and felt nothing changed, you were right.
  • Ion Blasters were doubling their critical damage, which cuts the other way — that is a nerf back to intended behavior.
  • The DC-17m Anti-Armor shot could not crit or receive damage bonuses that should have applied.
  • The Immovable status was being applied but granting no bonuses at all.
  • Sweeping Salvo was hitting enemies outside its targeting cone.
  • Droid Dismantler was granting Harmony on every enemy death rather than only droid deaths.

Tel-Rea Vokoss got the most attention of any character. Her Force attacks were displaying wrong damage numbers, applying the Ranged Damage Cross Training bonus twice, and failing to add critical damage bonuses. Her hero mission also had a bug where the final battle ended prematurely at one survival turn remaining — it now correctly resolves at the end of the final enemy turn.

There was also an exploit in the second tier of the A Life of Labor talent that accumulated bonuses infinitely if you repurchased it. That is closed.

Strategy Layer Changes Worth Knowing

Two of these change how you play rather than just fixing something broken.

The Bacta Tank can no longer be used more than once per cycle. This is the one to pay attention to. If you had been leaning on instant healing to keep a thin roster deployable, that option is now rationed. Roster depth matters more after this patch than it did before it.

Secondary Specializations now work correctly in two places — they properly add their passive Cross Trainings to the selection pool at relationship level +8, and they now count when Operations test for specialization-specific requirements and outcomes. If you unlocked second specs and felt like they were not doing anything at the Holotable, that is why.

There are also fixes for Databank corruption, including a nasty one where editing an operator’s name could rename a different operator and break their customization.

Feature Updates

Three small quality-of-life additions: you can now back out of the Weapon Mods tutorial, canceling a multi-cycle facility upgrade properly shows the progress reset, and the Tel-Rea hero mission fix mentioned above.

For PC Players on Older Hardware

If you are running an NVIDIA GTX 10-series or RTX 20-series card, EA recommends turning Environment Geometry Detail off in the graphics options. Those architectures take a rendering overhead penalty on complex environmental detail, and disabling it can stabilize framerates.

Minimum suggested drivers have also been bumped to current game-ready versions for both NVIDIA and AMD.

Is It Enough?

The crash and save fixes were badly needed, and the 100% hit chance fix removes the single most frustrating thing about the tactical layer. This is a substantial patch.

It is also worth noting that Bit Reactor reportedly furloughed most of its staff shortly before launch and has been operating with a skeleton crew since, which explains why it took two weeks to address issues this fundamental. Whether the patch cadence picks up from here is an open question.

If you have been holding off on Beskar Mode because you did not trust the game not to eat your run, this patch is your green light — with the caveat that Overwatch reliability may still have gaps.
