Marrock - SWGoH

SWGoH: Best Mods for Marrok

Posted on October 7, 2024February 17, 2025 by ljcool110

If you are looking for a SWGoH Marrok mods guide, the Force has led you to the right site. Today I will review the best mods for Marrok, Mercenary Inquisitor from the Ahsoka series, and a late 2024 addition to Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes. Marrok is a required unit to unlock Baylan Skoll, required at Relic 7.

During my time at Gaming-fans.com I started the “best mods” series of articles which turned out to be what put the site on the radar of the community and with EA Capital Games. While I enjoyed our brief time with a communicative Capital Games consistently working myself and the other SWGoH GameChangers, there was an inability to support that level of community engagement from within CG, so I became just another member of the community, only with a bit more of a public voice. Now that my days with Gaming-fans.com are behind me, I am working to keep the same kind of content going as I resume the “best mods” series today with the Best Mods for Marrok.

A character who fights with Baylan Skoll and Shin Hati in the Ahsoka Disney+ series, Marrok in Galaxy of Heroes is described as “A daunting support who uses Purge to terrorize his enemies.” He is a Support, Inquisitorius, Mercenary and Unaligned Force User character who appears to have use on both Mercenary and Inquisitorius teams. Let’s take a look at how we want to focus the mod stat gains for Marrok in Galaxy of Heroes.

Note that I have been told that I can get a bit long-winded when writing these mod guides. As a result, if you simply want the TL;DR on how to mod Marrok, it is below.

Main Mod Stats to focus on…

Marrok’s base speed of 175 has some solid offensive potential to support his teammates. Of course how impactful Marrok will be in Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes will not be determined until we have the full Mercenary team together, but once we have Baylan Skoll released in-game, a lot will be learned.

Until then, like with Shin Hati, it looks like Critical Chance and critical hits will play strongly into Marrok’s kit. “Whenever Marrok scores a critical hit, all Mercenary allies gain 5% Offense (stacking, max 100%) until the end of the encounter,” so Marrok and Shin will both be relying on a high CC stat. Given Marrok deals Special Damage, note that his base Special Critical Chance is incredibly low at just 10.63%, so high CC secondaries will be necessary and of course you’re going to want Speed from the secondary stats as well. In addition, Marrok gains 30% Max Health and Max Protection, and 50% Potency per his Masked Hunter unique, all stats I would build upon with mods.

After testing Marrok out and getting come community feedback, an Offense set has to be in play. Goals of Special Damage in the 9k-9,500 range with high Speed will make Marrok quite effective, depending on the team you use him with.

Which Mod Sets to use & Dev Recommendations

Before looking at what the developers recommend, I was expecting at least 1-2 Critical Chance sets with likely 1-2 Health sets to fill in the 6 mods needed. It is hard to say without testing Marrok with the Mercenary team he will be on, but with the devs coming in with Health and Potency recommendations, and community feedback and testing saying offense, you could go a lot of different ways with this new Mercenary and Inquisitor. I still maintain that a lot will depend on the leader ability for Baylan Skoll. Here is what I am recommending (to start) for the best mods for Marrok:

  • Transmitter (Square) – The Transmitter mod always has a primary focus on offense. For Marrok, I recommend a CRITICAL CHANCE or OFFENSE mod here and be sure to closely look at the secondary stats to ensure that you get a heavy secondary focus on speed, health, CC and potency or protection.
  • Receiver (Arrow) – The Receiver mod can have a primary focus on several stats including speed, critical avoidance, accuracy, health, protection, defense and offense. For Marrok, you want to use a HEALTH mod here with a primary focus on speed and a secondary focus on health, potency, critical chance and offense or protection.
  • Processor (Diamond) – The Processor is always going to have a primary focus on defense. For Marrok, you want to use a CRITICAL CHANCE or OFFENSE mod here with a secondary focus on speed, offense, health and potency or CC.
  • Holo-Array (Triangle) – The Holo-Array is a very specialized mod that can have a primary focus on critical chance, critical damage, health, protection, offense and defense. For Marrok, you want to use a HEALTH mod here with a primary focus on Critical Damage and a secondary focus on speed, CC, health and potency or offense. (Note that a CC-focused Triangle mod could be in play here.)
  • Data-Bus (Circle) – The Data-bus mod always has a primary focus on either health or protection, and Marrok will benefit from a higher Health stat, so go with a CRITICAL CHANCE or OFFENSE mod with a Health primary. The secondary focus stats should be speed, protection, potency and critical chance.
  • Multiplexer (Plus) – The Multiplexer (plus or cross) mod can have a primary focus on potency, tenacity, health, protection, defense offense. For Marrok, you want to use a CRITICAL CHANCE or OFFENSE mod here with an health, potency or protection focus, making sure to have your mod sets complete. For the secondary stats, look to add speed, CC, health and potency or protection.

Best Mods for Marrok TL;DR

  • Square – CC mod with speed & health
  • Arrow – Health mod, Speed focus with health & CC
  • Diamond – CC mod with speed & CC
  • Triangle – Health mod, Critical Damage focus with speed & CC/potency
  • Circle – CC mod, Health focus with speed & CC/potency
  • Plus – CC mod, Potency focus with speed & CC
