SWGoH: Best Mods for the Era of Myths & Legends Characters

Posted on October 19, 2026October 21, 2026 by ljcool110

As I continue to review how the Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes community consumes their content, I was always able to carve out a niche while at Gaming-fans.com with the Best Mods guides. Now that those days are behind me, I am working to keep the same kind of content going as I work to update the best SWGoH mods series to 2026 standards. While many older characters do not call for drastic mod strategy changes, the addition of new characters and Datacrons can change the way we use them or greatly enhance one stat over another. As a result, I am expanding upon the traditional per-character mods guide and allowing those to be the more in-depth guides while adding the following: a faction- and era-based TL;DR of sorts for those who do not like all of my words and just want to know how to quickly mod their characters, one group at a time.

Today I cover mods for the new Era of Myths & Legends characters, all added between late July and early October 2026. A hodgepodge of new faces in SWGoH, this group has Legends material, fan theories, original concept art characters and more, and is rounded out with a Legendary Sith Lord – Darth Jar Jar. Each Era of Myths & Legends character’s specific mods can be found in the links below, along with a quick look at each. These mod recommendations are based on each character’s kit and actual gameplay, cross-checked against what the top Kyber Grand Arena players are running according to swgoh.gg, to help you in your quest to dominate the Galaxy of Heroes holotables. Note that all mod recommendations are subject to change as new information becomes available.

Mara Jade Skywalker – The Legends character who went from the Emperor’s Hand sworn to kill Luke Skywalker to later becoming his wife, Mara Jade Skywalker in SWGoH is the Jedi/New Republic Attacker who kicked off the Era of Myths & Legends as an Era Unit. She hits hard, applies Defense Down (upgraded to Stagger if the enemy already has it), buffs her teammates with Offense Up and does her best work with Jedi Knight Luke Skywalker in the Leader slot. Her unique already gives her +30% Critical Chance and Critical Damage, so there is no need to chase crit sets – Offense and Health sets are the way to go, and that is exactly where the top players have landed.

Mod Sets: Offense + Health | Arrow: Speed | Triangle: Critical Damage | Circle: Health | Cross: Offense

Yoda (Dark Side Vision) – The newest Yoda in SWGoH, this Sith Yoda variant is a rare Sith Healer who packs a punch. Looking at his kit, he applies Daze (and Stun in an all-Sith squad), cleanses and heals Sith allies, applies Dark Master’s Training and Siphons Defense from a target enemy. Speed comes first so he can keep cycling those heals, cleanses and Dark Master’s Training, followed by Health, which is the build the top players have settled on. Defense secondaries are a nice bonus, as at the end of each of his turns, every other Sith ally gains 5% of Yoda’s Defense for the rest of the encounter.

Mod Sets: Speed + Health | Arrow: Speed | Triangle: Health | Circle: Health | Cross: Health

Starkiller (Luke Concept) – Starkiller (Luke Concept) is a Rebel Support character and an Unaligned Force User designed to be used on the CLS team. With Commander Luke Skywalker in the lead, he gains Turn Meter on his turns, pins down one enemy with Shared Fate and turns Rebel critical hits into Expose. Potency will help him land Buff Immunity and Ability Block, and his unique boosts Critical Chance, Max Health and Max Protection for all Rebel allies, himself included, with those bonuses doubled under CLS. There is not enough top-player data on swgoh.gg for him yet, so this one comes straight from the kit: Speed first, then Potency.

Mod Sets: Speed + Potency | Arrow: Speed | Triangle: Critical Damage (or Health for a safer build) | Circle: Health | Cross: Potency

Stormtrooper (Concept) – Stormtrooper (Concept) is an Imperial Trooper Tank designed to enhance the faction, and his Linebreaker special has all Imperial Trooper allies recover Protection based on his Defense. This is an easy decision – load him up with Defense sets and make him as thick as possible. The top players add a Health set to the two Defense sets and pair a Defense triangle with Protection on the circle and cross, while still running a Speed arrow so he gets his Taunt and Protection refills out on time.

Mod Sets: Defense x2 + Health | Arrow: Speed | Triangle: Defense | Circle: Protection | Cross: Protection

Jaxxon – Jaxxon is a wisecracking six-foot green rabbit smuggler created for Marvel’s 1978 Star Wars comics, where he flew alongside Han and Chewie, and in SWGoH he’s a Mercenary, Scoundrel and Smuggler Attacker introduced as an Era of Myths & Legends Era Unit. He can apply Vulnerable, Off Balance and Stun (when Prepared), and synergizes well with the Prepared characters, as well as any version of Lando Calrissian, who unlocks a big Critical Chance, Critical Damage and Max Health boost for both. His unique provides +20% Critical Chance, so a Critical Damage/Critical Chance combination is your best bet, and it is the most popular build among top players.

Mod Sets: Critical Damage + Critical Chance | Arrow: Speed | Triangle: Critical Damage | Circle: Protection | Cross: Offense

The Ronin – The last addition in the Era of Myths & Legends, The Ronin is a Sith Attacker in SWGoH. He has a high base Critical Chance and Armor Penetration, gains Offense Up from his basic and has a special that deals 300% more damage and inflicts Armor Shred on enemies with Taunt or Resilient Defense. Each of those attacks stacks bonus damage onto the other, his unique adds +50% Critical Damage and he Siphons Critical Damage from his target. Once his Boiling Point stacks run out, he summons R5-D56, who inherits all of The Ronin’s Critical Damage and most of his Speed and Physical Damage, so every mod you put on The Ronin pulls double duty. With his crit chance largely covered, I would recommend an Offense set paired with a Health set over a crit-heavy build, which matches what the top players are running.

Mod Sets: Offense + Health | Arrow: Speed | Triangle: Critical Damage | Circle: Protection | Cross: Offense

Darth Jar Jar – The Legendary of this Era, Darth Jar Jar is unlocked through the Terrible Tings Journey, which requires the six Era Units above. A Sith and Gungan Support and Leader, he deals Special damage, Shocks his target and spreads Tenacity Down in an all-Sith squad, Manipulates one enemy and Siphons Max Protection from the rest of the enemy team to hand to his Sith allies. The Leader slot is where he does his best work, handing out bonus turns to Sith allies and turning Ability Block, Daze and Stun back on whoever inflicted them. He needs to move early and stay alive, which is why Speed + Health is the clear favorite among top players, with Speed + Defense as the most popular alternative and a Speed arrow on nearly all of them.

Mod Sets: Speed + Health | Arrow: Speed | Triangle: Protection or Health | Circle: Health | Cross: Health or Protection

When reviewing Era of Myths & Legends mods in SWGoH, there is no perfect formula, but I am hopeful that this guide will help players all across the globe in their goals to dominate the holotables in Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes.
