Who were the Inquisitors in Star Wars?
The Inquisitors in Star Wars were force-sensitive individuals who were trained by Darth Vader to hunt Jedi after the execution of Order 66. Known as the Inquisitorius, this group of Dark Side force wielders were assigned a title instead of a name, such as Second Sister, Fifth Brother, etc. Each used red spinning lightsabers, often double-bladed, in an effort to sell more Disney Star Wars merchandise and look cool. The Inquisitorius members often would rely more on intimidation and cruelty than deeper Sith philosophy and could use basic Force powers: push, pull, jump, mind probe, etc. The individual Inquisitors would frequently clash and compete with each other for favor and were often tortured or broken mentally to ensure loyalty, and they were tasked with helping Darth Vader hunt down any remaining Jedi in the Galaxy.
While the Inquisitorius made their debut in the Star Wars Rebels series with the Grand Inquisitor, and later others, it was not until the Obi-Wan Kenobi series when they made their live-action debut in Star Wars. Here is a look at some of the Inquisitors in Star Wars as well as some facts about each.
