During my time at Gaming-fans.com I started the “best mods” series of articles which turned out to be what put the site on the radar of the community and with EA Capital Games. While I enjoyed our brief time with a communicative Capital Games consistently working myself and the other SWGoH GameChangers, there was an inability to support that level of community engagement from within CG, so I became just another member of the community, only with a bit more of a public voice. Now that my days with Gaming-fans.com are well behind me, I will seek to keep the same kind of content going as I resume the “best mods in SWGoH” series today with the Best Mods for Darth Revan.
Darth Revan remains one of the most relevant and powerful characters in Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes and has been since he was added in-game. With value in almost every game mode, he pairs up well with Darth Malak, Bastila Shan (Fallen) and Darth Malgus in Sith lineups as well as now with Zaalbar and Mission Vao in GAC 3v3. A Dark Side Attacker and Leader, Darth Revan is a member of the Sith and Sith Empire factions and is a Fleet Commander of the Leviathan. Let’s take a look at how we want to focus the mod stat gains for Darth Revan in Galaxy of Heroes.
Note that I have learned that I get a bit wordy in these Best Mods articles, so as a result the TL;DR on mods for Darth Revan is below.
Main Mod Stats to focus on…
Speed is incredibly important to Darth Revan, so much so that he is in the top tier of all SWGoH characters for your top Speed mods. So when discussing Darth Revan mods, a Speed set is pretty much a must. After prioritizing Speed, focus on Offense, Critical Chance, Critical Damage, Potency, and survivability. While Darth Revan benefits from Potency to enhance his debuff applications, his Force Storm special automatically applies five stacks of the Ferocity debuff to Sith Empire allies. In-game, Ferocity reduces Defense and Tenacity by 15% per stack while increasing Offense and Potency by 8% per stack. This means a single application of five stacks grants +40% Offense and Potency, reducing the need to prioritize Potency too heavily. However, Offense remains a stat that can never be too high. Focusing on secondary stats for Offense and Critical Chance, along with a Triangle mod featuring a Critical Damage primary, will maximize damage output. Be cautious not to underestimate the need for Critical Chance. While Sith Empire allies gain 10% CC per debuff they have through Darth Revan’s leadership ability, and under a Darth Malgus leadership, Sith Empire allies gain +10% CC and +10 Speed, Darth Revan is a dealer of Special Damage which means his base Special CC is 25% lower than his Physical CC. Lastly, for survivability, Health and Protection remain the best options, as the Darth Malgus leadership adds Critical Avoidance, and all Sith Empire allies recover +10% Health & Protection whenever they are inflicted with a debuff.
Modding Darth Revan for Ships & the Fleet Arena
Mods for Darth Revan do not differ in the types of mods for the Fleet Arena and ships in SWGoH, and the stats gained do not matter either. The key is having the most maxed out mods possible, as every mod enhancement adds to the Total Power of the Capital Ship. Thus, Mk VI mods, enhanced to Tier A (as pictured) are the way to maximize this Capital Ship Crew Member in SWGoH.
Which Mod Sets to use & Dev Recommendations for Darth Revan
Rarely do I disagree with the devs on mod recommendations for newer characters. Not that Darth Revan is new in SWGoH, but he was added well after the addition of the “Advanced” mod recommendations from the devs were added in-game. The devs say Offense & Critical Chance mods are the way to go, but I would argue that Darth Revan is one of the 5-10 most valuable characters in SWGoH for your top Speed mods. So while the devs have their plan for Darth Revan mods, I am going with years of experience playing the game, and with the vast majority of the best 5k players of SWGoH worldwide in saying a set of four Speed mods and a set of two Health mods is the BEST way to mod Darth Revan. With all of that having been said, here are my recommendations for the best mods for Darth Revan:
- Transmitter (Square) – The Transmitter mod always has a primary focus on offense. For Darth Revan, you want to use a HEALTH mod here and be sure to closely look at the secondary stats to ensure that you get a heavy secondary focus on speed, health, offense and critical chance, protection or potency.
- Receiver (Arrow) – The Receiver mod can have a primary focus on several stats including speed, critical avoidance, accuracy, health, protection, defense and offense. For Darth Revan, you want to use a SPEED mod here with a primary focus on speed and a secondary focus on health and offense, but also look to add protection, potency or critical chance.
- Processor (Diamond) – The Processor is always going to have a primary focus on defense. For Darth Revan, you want to use a SPEED mod here with a secondary focus on speed, health, offense and critical chance, protection or potency.
- Holo-Array (Triangle) – The Holo-Array is a very specialized mod that can have a primary focus on critical chance, critical damage, health, protection, offense and defense. For Darth Revan, you want to use a HEALTH mod here with a primary focus on Critical Damage and a secondary focus on speed, health, offense and critical chance, protection or potency.
- Data-Bus (Circle) – The Data-bus mod always has a primary focus on either health or protection, and with Darth Revan it is an easy choice – SPEED mod with a health primary. The secondary focus stats should be speed, health, offense and critical chance, protection or potency.
- Multiplexer (Plus) – The Multiplexer (plus or cross) mod can have a primary focus on potency, tenacity, health, protection, defense or offense. For Darth Revan, you want to use a SPEED mod here with a focus on Offense, making sure to have your mod sets complete. For the secondary stats look to add speed, health, offense and critical chance, protection or potency.
