Today I will review the best mods for Shin Hati, the newest member of SWGoH and one of the first Mercenary characters in the game. Shin Hati will be a required unit to unlock Baylan Skoll, required at Relic 7.
During my time at Gaming-fans.com I started the “best mods” series of articles which turned out to be what put the site on the radar of the community and with EA Capital Games. While I enjoyed our brief time with a communicative Capital Games consistently working myself and the other SWGoH GameChangers, there was an inability to support that level of community engagement from within CG, so I became just another member of the community, only with a bit more of a public voice. Now that my days with Gaming-fans.com are behind me, I am working to keep the same kind of content going as I resume the “best mods” series today with the Best Mods for Shin Hati.
Shin Hati in Galaxy of Heroes is described as “A lightsaber combatant who ignores Taunt to attack her enemies.” In addition, she “Introduces the new Soldier of Fortune effect for the Mercenary faction. This is a stacking blue status effect that does nothing on its own, but on reaching a threshold, abilities will have various effects added,” according to the dev notes from EA Capital Games. Let’s take a look at how we want to focus the mod stat gains for Shin Hati in Galaxy of Heroes.
Note that I have been told that I can get a bit long-winded when writing these mod guides. As a result, if you simply want the TL;DR on how to mod Shin Hati, it is below.
Main Mod Stats to focus on…
Shin Hati’s base speed of 176 will be impactful in Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes once we have the full Mercenary team together, but until we have Baylan Skoll released in-game, a lot remains to be seen. She is an Attacker, which usually means we want speed and offensive gains (Offense or Critical Damage mods are often in-play). An early look at her kit suggests that Potency will help her land valuable debuffs and Health will enhance the Protection Up granted to Mercenary allies gained from I’ve Eyes on Them. While her kit has callouts to Offense Up and Critical Damage Up, it is hard to say which one is going to be the best fit for Shin Hati in-game until we have the ability to test her out. Speed will be essential from secondary stats of course, so be sure to roll some strong speed secondaries. Key to all of this is Critical Chance – her Soldier of Fortune unique sees her gaining one stack of the Soldier of Fortune buff from each critical hit she delivers, so loading up on CC to enhance this stat will be quite helpful.
Which Mod Sets to use & Dev Recommendations
Before looking at what the developers recommended, I was expecting offensive stats to be the focus of the mods, either and Offense or CD set with a CC, Health or Potency set. The dev recommendations turned out to be CC and CD, so I was right on the same page. It is hard to say without testing her with the Mercenary team she will be on, but I will update this as soon as we have more information. Here is what I am recommending for the best mods for Shin Hati:
- Transmitter (Square) – The Transmitter mod always has a primary focus on offense. For Shin Hati, I recommend a OFFENSE or CRITICAL DAMAGE mod here and be sure to closely look at the secondary stats to ensure that you get a heavy secondary focus on speed, offense, CC, health or potency.
- Receiver (Arrow) – The Receiver mod can have a primary focus on several stats including speed, critical avoidance, accuracy, health, protection, defense and offense. For Shin Hati, you want to use a OFFENSE or CRITICAL DAMAGE mod here with a primary focus on speed and a secondary focus on health, potency, offense and critical chance.
- Processor (Diamond) – The Processor is always going to have a primary focus on defense. For Shin Hati, you want to use a OFFENSE or CRITICAL DAMAGE mod here with a secondary focus on speed, offense, health and potency or CC.
- Holo-Array (Triangle) – The Holo-Array is a very specialized mod that can have a primary focus on critical chance, critical damage, health, protection, offense and defense. For Shin Hati, you want to use a HEALTH mod here with a primary focus on Critical Damage and a secondary focus on speed, CC, health and potency or offense.
- Data-Bus (Circle) – The Data-bus mod always has a primary focus on either health or protection, and Shin Hati will benefit from a higher Health stat, so go with a OFFENSE or CRITICAL DAMAGE mod with a Health primary. The secondary focus stats should be speed, offense, potency and critical chance.
- Multiplexer (Plus) – The Multiplexer (plus or cross) mod can have a primary focus on potency, tenacity, health, protection, defense offense. For Shin Hati, you want to use a HEALTH mod here with an potency focus, making sure to have your mod sets complete. For the secondary stats, look to add speed, CC, health and offense.
