As more characters are added to SWGoH, we cannot ignore how older characters are impacted and how the game continues to evolve. Today I start the Best Mods for Death Trooper (Peridea), the newest character in Galaxy of Heroes. Years ago I launched Gaming-fans.com and started the “best mods” series of articles which turned out to be what put the site on the radar of the community and with EA Capital Games. As a member of the SWGoH GameChangers, the Website got even more attention as I attempted to expand into other areas of the game and even other games, constantly struggling to find the balance in the Force needed to do so. While my days with Gaming-fans.com are now behind me, I am working to keep building on what I saw as my strength all along – the “best mods in SWGoH” series as today I review the Best Mods for Death Trooper (Peridea) in SWGoH.
Here is the SWGoH explanation of Death Trooper (Peridea): “A relentless Attacker whose efforts to destroy the enemy are persistent, even after death.” Like the recently-added Night Trooper, Death Trooper (Peridea) is intended to be used alongside Nightsisters or with Imperial Remnant units, and has strong offensive stats.
A quick note. If I am too wordy for you, as I have learned I can be a bit a bit long-winded at times, check out the new Best Mods for Death Trooper (Peridea) TL;DR that I have added below.
Main Mod Stats to focus on…
For Death Trooper (Peridea), he has solid Physical Damage and the chance to attack twice with his basic if the enemy has Blight, applied by himself and Night Trooper at the time of this writing. If his basic scores a crit, all Imperial Remnant allies gain Offense Up, so adding Offense and CC are already obvious choices. Potency will help apply Damage Over Time (DoT) debuffs and remove Turn Meter from the Just a Little Nibble special and both Offense Down and Tenacity Down with the Necrotic Tissue special. There is also the chance to gain Speed Up from that second special and he is an Attacker, so Speed should not be ignored. However, his unique grants DTP with 5% TM (stacking) for each stack of Blight inflicted on any enemy, so you can save your top Speed mods for other characters. His In Your Head unique grants DTP with 25 Speed and grants Imperial Remnant allies with +35% CC and Offense and Nightsister allies with +35% Max Health and Max Protection.
Which Mod Sets to use & Dev Recommendations
As I have said many times before, the developers and I tend to agree on new characters. My initial thought with Death Trooper (Peridea) is Offense mods with a Potency or CC set. The devs says a CC set and a Critical Damage set of 4, a bit off of what I was thinking, but when you see that his Relic gains increase CD it makes sense. If you do not have great Critical Damage mods with high offense, potency and CC in the secondary stats, you can go with an offense set as a backup. Here is what I am recommending for the best mods for Death Trooper (Peridea):
-
- Transmitter (Square) – The Transmitter mod always has a primary focus on offense. For Death Trooper (Peridea), you want to use a CRITICAL CHANCE/POTENCY mod here and be sure to closely look at the secondary stats to ensure that you get a heavy secondary focus on offense, potency, critical chance and speed or health/protection.
- Receiver (Arrow) – The Receiver mod can have a primary focus on several stats including speed, critical avoidance, accuracy, health, protection, defense and offense. For Death Trooper (Peridea), you want to use a CRITICAL DAMAGE mod here with a primary focus on speed and a secondary focus on offense, potency, critical chance and health/protection.
- Processor (Diamond) – The Processor is always going to have a primary focus on defense. For Death Trooper (Peridea), you want to use a CRITICAL DAMAGE mod here with a secondary focus on offense, potency, critical chance and speed or health/protection.
- Holo-Array (Triangle) – The Holo-Array is a very specialized mod that can have a primary focus on critical chance, critical damage, health, protection, offense and defense. For Death Trooper (Peridea), you want to use a CRITICAL DAMAGE mod here with a primary focus on Critical Damage and a secondary focus on offense, potency, critical chance and speed or health/protection.
- Data-Bus (Circle) – The Data-bus mod always has a primary focus on either health or protection, and Death Trooper (Peridea) benefits from both a high Health or high Protection stat, so use a CRITICAL CHANCE/POTENCY mod with a Health or Protection primary. The secondary focus stats should be offense, potency, critical chance and speed or health/protection.
- Multiplexer (Plus) – The Multiplexer (plus or cross) mod can have a primary focus on potency, tenacity, health, protection, defense offense. For Death Trooper (Peridea), you want to use a CRITICAL DAMAGE mod here with a focus on Offense, making sure to have your mod sets complete. For the secondary stats, look to add potency, critical chance and speed or health/protection.
