Boss Nass - SWGoH

SWGoH: Best Mods for Boss Nass

Posted on April 15, 2024February 8, 2025 by ljcool110

If you’re searching the web for a Boss Nass mods guide, you have come to the right place. During my time at Gaming-fans.com I started the “best mods” series of articles which turned out to be what put the site on the radar of the community and with EA Capital Games. While I enjoyed our brief time with a communicative Capital Games consistently working myself and the other SWGoH GameChangers, there was an inability to support that level of community engagement from within CG, so I became just another member of the community, only with a bit more of a public voice. Now that my days with Gaming-fans.com are behind me, I am working to keep the same kind of content going as I resume the “best mods” series today with the Best Mods for Boss Nass.

Rugor Nass, aka Boss Nass, server as the Boss of the Gungan High Council during the Trade Federation’s invasion of Naboo in the first Star Wars movie. In Galaxy of Heroes, Boss Nass was the first Gungan added in 2024 and is the lone Gungan in the faction with a leadership ability. That leadership ability, without the Omicron, grants Gungan allies +30% Max Protection and Offense and +30 Speed. Gungans attacking out of turn inflict Speed Down on enemies and he also grants allies 50% Bonus Protection when they fall below 50% Health. In addition, Gungans gain 1% Max Protection when their Shield Generator loses a stack of Recharge, and they gain 50% Turn Meter when it is defeated. With the Omicron, in Territory Wars Gungans gain 50% more Max Protection and another +30 Speed and recover Protection and dispel debuffs on themselves at the start of each Gungan ally’s turn. All in all, Boss Nass has a crazy leadership and will likely be a staple on defense in Territory Wars for the top guilds in the game for the second half of 2024 and beyond and the transfer of Health to Protection for all five makes modding the Gungan faction correctly very important.

Note that I have been told that I can get a bit long-winded when writing these mod guides. As a result, if you simply want the TL;DR on how to mod Boss Nass, it is below.

Main Mod Stats to focus on…

For Boss Nass, you’re obviously using him as the leader of a team of Gungans in any game mode, with or without the (Territory War focused) Omicron. He is a Jar Jar Binks requirement at Relic 5, and given the focus on Protection in his kit and the transfer of 75% of his Max Health into Max Protection from the Gungan unique abilities, you’re going to want a high Max Health stat to roll that over. He also has some powerful debuffs and the ability to remove Turn Meter, so you definitely want to enhance his very strong 96% base Potency stat. While he has a base Speed of 177, faster than Captain Tarpals who we recommend a Speed set for, there is just not the same reason to enhance Speed with a set of four mods here with Boss Nass, so just get good Speed from secondary stats. Focus on Health, Protection, Speed and Potency from your mods and added Defense and Tenacity are not a bad idea added to this.

Which Mod Sets to use & Dev Recommendations for Boss Nass:

The developers and I agree 100% on Boss Nass as their recommendations of two Health sets and a Potency are spot-on. You want Boss Nass to have high survivability and to be able to land some impactful debuffs, and Protection is going to have to come from the circle and triangle mods for sure, as well as all of the secondaries. Here is what I am recommending for the best mods for Gungan leader Boss Nass:

  • Transmitter (Square) – The Transmitter mod always has a primary focus on offense. For Boss Nass, you want to use a POTENCY mod here and be sure to closely look at the secondary stats to ensure that you get a heavy secondary focus on speed, protection, potency and health.
  • Receiver (Arrow) – The Receiver mod can have a primary focus on several stats including speed, critical avoidance, accuracy, health, protection, defense and offense. For Boss Nass, you want to use a HEALTH mod here with a primary focus on speed and a secondary focus on protection, health, potency and defense or tenacity.
  • Processor (Diamond) – The Processor is always going to have a primary focus on defense. For Boss Nass, you want to use a HEALTH mod here with a secondary focus on speed, protection, potency and health.
  • Holo-Array (Triangle) – The Holo-Array is a very specialized mod that can have a primary focus on critical chance, critical damage, health, protection, offense and defense. For Boss Nass, you want to use a HEALTH mod here with a primary focus on Protection and a secondary focus on speed, protection, potency and health, defense or tenacity.
  • Data-Bus (Circle) – The Data-bus mod always has a primary focus on either health or protection, and Boss Nass benefits greatly from high Health and Protection stats, but Protection is the more valuable choice, so use a POTENCY mod with a Protection primary. The secondary focus stats should be speed, protection, potency and tenacity, defense or health.
  • Multiplexer (Plus) – The Multiplexer (plus or cross) mod can have a primary focus on potency, tenacity, health, protection, defense offense. For Boss Nass, you want to use a HEALTH mod here with a Protection or Potency focus, making sure to have your mod sets complete. For the secondary stats, look to add speed, health, potency and tenacity, defense or protection.

Boss Nass Mods TL;DR

  • Square – CC mod with speed & protection
  • Arrow – Speed mod, Speed focus with protection & offense
  • Diamond – CC mod with speed & protection
  • Triangle – Speed mod, CD focus with speed & protection
  • Circle – Speed mod, Protection focus with speed & potency
  • Plus – Speed mod, Offense focus with speed & protection
