We are well into 2024 and if there is one thing I know about having written literally hundreds of mod guides over the years, it is that they need to stay up-to-date to remain relevant. Many in the Galaxy of Heroes community know me from my time at Gaming-fans.com where I started the “best mods” series of articles which turned out to be what put the site on the radar of the community and with EA Capital Games. While my days with GF are behind me, I am working to keep the same kind of content going as I resume with the best SWGoH mods series today with a much more recent version of the Best Mods for Admiral Piett.
I selected Admiral Piett as one of my early new mod guides here at StarWars-fans.com because of his overall high use and strong versatility in the game. In addition to having one of the most powerful Capital Ships, Admiral Piett is currently a key character in the Speeder Bike Pursuit Raid and have strong relevance in Territory Battles, Territory Wars, the Grand Arena Championships, Conquest and more. I have a philosophy that if I am going to use a character in that many game modes, I should look to upgrade them sooner rather than later, which is why my Phoenix squad characters and Wampa are always tougher to justify and characters like Piett and Darth Malak are easy choices. Let’s take a moment to review the best ways to mod Admiral Piett in SWGoH in 2024.
Main Mod Stats to focus on…
Speed is so essential for some characters, and Admiral Piett certainly is one of those characters who must be very fast in order to be effective. When using Imperial Troopers, Speed is key to their “getting the train rolling,” and once it gets started it is hard to get it to slow down. Even if Moff Gideon is not used with Piett, you want a super fast Admiral Piett to place the enemy focus on the Dark Trooper, so shoot for 320+ Speed with a set of four Speed mods. After Speed, Potency and survivability would be my next areas of focus, followed by offensive stats like Offense, Critical Chance and Critical Damage. Admiral Piett is not a huge offensive threat but does offer a lot of value on any team with Imperial Troopers, and his Suborbital Strike special can apply Daze and Fear.
Speeder Bike Pursuit Raid Mods
When playing the Speeder Bike Pursuit Raid, mods play a significant role in the turn meter, turn order, damage stacks, evade stacks and helps you get more consistent scores. For Piett, we want to get his Physical Offense (Damage) above 10k, and given his Leader ability adds +30% Offense, when you do the math you need to shoot for 7,693+ Physical Damage on Piett so that the 30% bonus gets you above 10k. Secondly, you want as much Speed as possible on Piett and if you have a very fast Piett over 10k Physical Offense then you are ready to fight. Then be sure he is the leader in whatever combination you use and Piett can be quite strong in the Speeder Bike Pursuit Raid.
Which Mod Sets to use & Dev Recommendations
The developers did not give mod recommendations until the game was several years old, then they went through their entire lineup of 150+ characters and made mod recommendations. When that happened, due to the mass number of characters they had to review, they got sloppy (in my opinion). I will follow that by saying I think almost every new character added in SWGoH since that time has been much, much better and I rarely disagree with the mod recommendations now, due in large part to the fact that they can give these new characters individualized attention.
For Admiral Piett, the dev recommendations are Speed and Health and I fully support this. Admiral Piett is one of those characters you want fast to help support his teammates and given there are more Health mods in the game than the other types, odds are you have more Health mods with high secondary speeds as a result. With this in mind, here is what I am recommending for the best mods for Admiral Piett:
- Transmitter (Square) – The Transmitter mod always has a primary focus on offense. For Admiral Piett you want to normally use a SPEED mod here and be sure to closely look at the secondary stats to ensure that you get a heavy secondary focus on speed, health, potency and offense or critical chance.
- Receiver (Arrow) – The Receiver mod can have a primary focus on several stats including speed, critical avoidance, accuracy, health, protection, defense and offense. For Admiral Piett, you want to use a SPEED mod here with a primary focus on speed and a secondary focus on speed, potency, offense or critical chance.
- Processor (Diamond) – The Processor is always going to have a primary focus on defense. For Admiral Piett, you want to use a SPEED mod here with a secondary focus on speed, potency, health and offense or critical chance.
- Holo-Array (Triangle) – The Holo-Array is a very specialized mod that can have a primary focus on critical chance, critical damage, health, protection, offense and defense. For Admiral Piett, you want to use a HEALTH mod here with a primary focus on offense or critical damage and a secondary focus on speed, potency, protection and health.
- Data-Bus (Circle) – The Data-bus mod always has a primary focus on either health or protection, and Admiral Piett benefits more from a high Health stat, so use a HEALTH mod with a health primary. The secondary focus stats should be speed, protection, health and potency.
- Multiplexer (Plus) – The Multiplexer (plus or cross) mod can have a primary focus on potency, tenacity, health, protection, defense offense. For Admiral Piett, you want to use a SPEED mod here with a Protection focus, making sure to have your mod sets complete. For the secondary stats, look to add speed, protection, tenacity and health.
