When it was first released, one of the goals of the Conquest game mode in Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes was to keep the game fresh with new ideas and new ways to strategize. While the developers stayed true to this at first, it seemed that after a couple of seasons the focus was more on making the player base grind more than anything. While some small changes have been made to that, many of us are now well-trained dogs, doing what the EA Capital Games asks us to as we bring their bone to them and lay it at their feet. However, Conquest season 40, the first of the 3-part series to unlock Queen Amidala, has proven to add some new strategy and creativity to this game mode once again. In addition to some different Data Disks that strongly buff the Galactic Republic and Separatist factions, one new Global feat is to “Defeat 600 B1 Battle Droids” in battles across the Conquest map.
While this seemed like an easy feat at first, after clearing the map and nearing the Red Crate prize tier I realized that I needed to step by B1 Battle Droid game up a bit after killing around 150 initially. This is when I started experimenting with General Kenobi’s team options, the Inquisitorius and more. Then it dawned on me, a stacking offense team or individual character like Supreme Leader Kylo Ren is the perfect fit for the boss board on Sector 3. Facing endless waves of B1 Battle Droids, SLKR has the ability to ramp up his ramp up his Siphon stacks and eventually use his AoE attacks to kill 4 of the 5 B1 Battle Droids each time.
To start, you need to have a strong team around Supreme Leader Kylo. While it is easy to think all First Order characters around him, in long battle like this one the First Order Officer and General Hue die sooner than you want despite passing turn meter and extra turns to SLKR. As a result, I recommend you use four strong Dark Side tanks around SLKR to protect him. My best run used SLKR with Kylo Ren (Unmasked), First Order Stormtrooper, Darth Malak and Third Sister.
When it comes to Data Disks, I did not perfect this in my testing, but my recommendation is the following: Quickening (1), Power (2), Stacking Offense (2) and Savior (1). Adding Speed and offense obviously help you here and the Savior Data Disk allows one of your tanks to die and revive to help prolong the battle. Leader’s Resolve (3) is also a nice option.
In the battle, use SLKR’s middle ability, Stasis Strike, when possible to add more Siphon and stun a target. When it is not an option and the AoE is not enough (yet) to kill all of the B1 Battle Droids remaining on-screen, using the basic will also help get the Siphon number to increase. I try to stun enemies and ramp up the Siphon stat as much as possible early on until the AoE attacks will kill the droids while at full health. While the other members of the team can help a bit, they are basically there to protect SLKR for as long as possible, so this is where that Savior Data Disk plays a big role. From here, you just keep ramping up the Siphon stacks, go into the Ultimate whenever there are multiple B1 Battle Droids on-screen (for maximum effect from the AoE) and then rinse and repeat. The higher the offense and Relic levels, the higher your B1 Battle Droid kills can be, but getting well over 100 is certainly attainable in each battle.
