During my time at Gaming-fans.com I started the “best mods” series of articles which turned out to be what put the site on the radar of the community and with EA Capital Games. While I enjoyed our brief time with a communicative Capital Games consistently working with myself and the other SWGoH GameChangers, there was an inability to support that level of community engagement from within CG, so I became just another member of the community, only with a bit more of a public voice. Now that my days with Gaming-fans.com are behind me, I am working to keep the same kind of content going as I resume the “best mods” series today with and updated version of the Best Mods for Kit Fisto.
While Kit Fisto has been a bit of a joke in SWGoH since the early days of the game, the addition of Datacrons in the game has made characters uniquely relevant and sometimes OP for a few months at a time. Kit Fisto, At the time of this writing, is suddenly relevant to those with strong Galactic Republic Jedi teams thanks to the new Kit Fisto Datacron. Here is a look at the text of that Datacron:
Kit Fisto has +100% Health Steal. At the start of the battle, grant Guard to all other Galactic Republic Jedi allies until Kit Fisto is defeated. Kit Fisto and all allies with Guard have +100% Accuracy and have their Health and Protection equalized at the start of each ally’s turn. Whenever Kit Fisto attacks out of turn he recovers 20% Health and Protection and lowers the cooldown of Turn the Tide by 1. Whenever Kit Fisto uses a Special ability, all Galactic Republic Jedi gain Retribution for 2 turns. Whenever he uses his Basic ability, dispel all buffs on the target enemy.
Obviously there is a lot to unpack here, but let’s start by defining Guard, the blue buff that is better known because Chewbacca gives it to Han Solo: “Can’t be critically hit, immune to Daze and Stun, +25% Critical Chance.” So there you have it – Kit Fisto both protects other Galactic Republic Jedi and enhances their CC and Accuracy while equalizing H&P.
So this leads us to the question – how do we mod Kit Fisto if we have the Datacron to go with him and his Galactic Republic Jedi friends?
Main Mod Stats to focus on…
Speed is the necessary evil of Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes, but with a base 35% Counter Chance and the addition of Retribution from his special attacks, Speed is not as essential for Kit Fisto. He does start with a slow 140 base Speed, but remember there is also a 50% chance to gain 15% turn meter with each use of his basic attack.
Because of the high Health Steal I like the addition of Health, and Offense, Critical Chance and Critical Damage are all good areas to focus on to make those hits more impactful. His Physical Damage and CC are middle-of-the-road but his Armor Penetration stat is the 9th highest in the game today. My Relic 3 Kit Fisto has 55.67% CC before mods for reference. While the February 2018 Gaming-fans.com article focused on a CC/CD build for Kit Fisto, the addition of this Datacron and the evolution of the game can certainly impact how we look at Kit Fisto today.
Which Mod Sets to use & Dev Recommendations
The developers did not give mod recommendations until the game was several years old, then they went through their entire lineup of 150+ characters and made mod recommendations. When that happened, due to the mass number of characters they had to review, they got sloppy (in my opinion). I will follow that by saying I think almost every new character added in SWGoH since that time has been much, much better and I rarely disagree with the mod recommendations now, due in large part to the fact that they can give these new characters individualized attention.
For Kit Fisto, the dev recommendations are Health and Critical Damage. While both his Physical and Critical stats are rather average in the game, his unique does grant him an extra 20% Offense. But the addition of Guard to Kit and his GR allies grants them all +25% CC so in fairness, you cannot really go wrong either way during this temporary boost, just be sure for four of the same kind for the set bonus. As a result, here is what I am recommending for the best mods for Galactic Republic Jedi Kit Fisto:
- Transmitter (Square) – The Transmitter mod always has a primary focus on offense. For Kit Fisto, you want to use a OFFENSE or CRITICAL DAMAGE mod here and be sure to closely look at the secondary stats to ensure that you get a heavy secondary focus on health, offense, critical chance and potency.
- Receiver (Arrow) – The Receiver mod can have a primary focus on several stats including speed, critical avoidance, accuracy, health, protection, defense and offense. For Kit Fisto, you want to use a HEALTH mod here with a primary focus on speed or offense and a secondary focus on speed, health, offense, potency and critical chance. Note that speed as a secondary stat is only if you go with the offense primary.
- Processor (Diamond) – The Processor is always going to have a primary focus on defense. For Kit Fisto, you want to use a OFFENSE or CRITICAL DAMAGE mod here with a secondary focus on speed, health, potency and critical chance.
- Holo-Array (Triangle) – The Holo-Array is a very specialized mod that can have a primary focus on critical chance, critical damage, health, protection, offense and defense. For Kit Fisto, you want to use a HEALTH mod here with a primary focus on offense or critical damage and a secondary focus on speed, potency and offense. This all depends on which burial you want on Kit Fisto – the offense-heavy version or the focus on CC/CD.
- Data-Bus (Circle) – The Data-bus mod always has a primary focus on either health or protection, and Kit Fisto benefits more from a high Health stat, so use a OFFENSE or CRITICAL DAMAGE mod with a Health primary. The secondary focus stats should be speed, health, potency and critical chance.
- Multiplexer (Plus) – The Multiplexer (plus or cross) mod can have a primary focus on potency, tenacity, health, protection, defense offense. For Kit Fisto, you want to use a OFFENSE or CRITICAL DAMAGE mod here with an Offense focus, making sure to have your mod sets complete. For the secondary stats, look to add speed, health, potency and critical chance.
