The latest Legendary character in Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes is Maul (Hate-Fueled), aka Spider Legs Maul. Added in January 2026, Maul (Hate-Fueled) is the newest Unaligned Force User and a Dark Side Attacker who is the unlock to complete the Era of Anniversary, the first Era in the new-look Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes.
Unlocking Maul (Hate-Fueled) will require the use of our new Era characters – Stormtrooper Luke, Yoda & Chewie, IG-90, Asajj Ventress (Dark Disciple), Inquisitor Barriss and Darth Vader (Duel’s End) – with Darth Vader (Duel’s End), who is not yet in the game, needed for the 7-star unlock.
Below is our latest SWGoH Legendary character unlock guide and walkthrough of my experience with this new unlock system for the Legendary Maul (Hate-Fueled) in the Web of Hate Legendary Event. This will continue to be updated as new content is added once we have Darth Vader (Duel’s End) two weeks from the day this was published.
My Characters:
All of my characters needed to unlock Maul (Hate-Fueled) are at Era Level 70 or higher as of day one of this possible Legendary SWGoH character unlock.
- My Roster (as of January 13, 2026):
- Stormtrooper Luke – Era Level 74
- Yoda & Chewie – Era Level 74
- IG-90 – Era Level 74
- Asajj Ventress (Dark Disciple) – Era Level 74
- Inquisitor Barriss – Era Level 71
Tier I Battle:
- Tier I Required: Stormtrooper Luke – Era Level 45
- My Roster: Stormtrooper Luke – Era Level 74
With a borrowed Chewbacca and Stormtrooper Han, the goal of Tier I is to apply Distracted 10 times to win while not losing Stormtrooper Luke.
To the battle, it is worth noting that the borrowed Chewbacca and Stormtrooper Han are Era Level 45 and while all of the Imperial enemies are also Era Level 45, they are “Elite” enemies. Facing 4 Stormtroopers and and Imperial Officer, I lose both Chewbacca and Stormtrooper Han, but Stormtrooper Luke at Era Level 70 is way OP and easily gets through the battle. 80 shards of Maul (Hate-Fueled) are the prize as I unlock the latest Legendary character in SWGoH.
Tier II Battle:
- Tier I Required: Yoda & Chewie – Era Level 55
- My Roster: Yoda & Chewie – Era Level 74
With a borrowed Tarfful and two Clone Scout Troopers, the goal of Tier II is simply to survive through two rounds of enemies with Tarfful and Yoda & Chewie surviving.
To the battle, Tarfful is Era Level 55 for this battle as the first wave of enemies are two B1 Battle Droids and a Droideka. I take out the Droideka first because they are annoying, and then hit the Auto button. Wait, no auto. So I then press the basic each time because this is set to be competitive at or around Era Level 55, but at Era Level 74 I am way ahead of things.
The second wave is Yoda & Chewie and Tarfful facing the Clone Scout Troopers, and they hone in on Tarfful and kill him, so I have to do this again…
I fight a second time and Tarfful is the brunt of bad RNG again, but on the 3rd attempt I am able to keep him healthy and win with ease, gaining another 65 shards of Maul (Hate-Fueled) to upgrade him to 5-stars in SWGoH.
