For those looking for a Supreme Leader Kylo Ren mods guide, welcome to the Best Mods for Supreme Leader Kylo Ren, the latest in my series of “best mods in SWGoH” articles, as we now cover the Galactic Legend characters in Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes. It was mod guides like this one that put my old site on the radar of the community and with EA Capital Games years ago. In fact, over the years I have written literally hundreds of mod guides for SWGoH characters, including almost all of the original “best mods” guides over at Gaming-fans.com. Now that my days with Gaming Fans are behind me, I am working to keep the same kind of content going as I resume the “best mods” series today covering one of the most well-know Star Wars characters of all-time with the Best Mods for Supreme Leader Kylo Ren.
Released in the first batch of Galactic Legends alongside Rey back in March of 2020, Supreme Leader Kylo Ren is an offensive powerhouse and the 3rd version of Kylo Ren in SWGoH. His first order team typically includes General Hux, Kyle Ren (Unmasked), Sith Trooper and either First Order Officer, Captain Phasma or First Order Stormtrooper, with the team’s strategy to gain Advantage and get SLKR to attack as much as possible. He is a Galactic Legend who is a Dark Side Attacker, Leader, First Order and Unaligned Force User. With this in mind, let’s take a look at how to most effectively mod Supreme Leader Kylo Ren in Galaxy of Heroes.
Note that I have been told that I can get a bit long-winded when writing these mod guides. As a result, if you simply want the TL;DR on how to mod Supreme Leader Kylo Ren, it is below.
Main Mod Stats to focus on…
Supreme Leader Kylo Ren is a Galactic Legend character who works well as an offensive counter to many teams in the GAC and Territory Wars, and gets a ton of play in my game in the RoTE Territory Battle as well as in Conquest, Galactic Challenges and more. However, with the addition of Rey (Dark Side Vision), SLKR looks like he may be vaulted to the top of the Galactic Legends with boosts to his survivability, his team, a quicker ultimate and more. While we await the new Dark Side version of Rey, we look at what we know now – at the time of this writing, Supreme Leader Kylo Ren has the 2nd highest Physical Damage in the game, the highest Physical Critical Chance and the 3rd highest base Potency. Basically, without mods, has 125.71% CC at Relic 9 and check this out – 139% Potency at Gear 13! So while I always like to build on a character’s strengths with modding, these two stats need little help. This will allow you to focus on speed, offense, critical damage and his main survivability stat, health. While all of these are important, the question becomes on which 4-mod set to use – speed, CD or offense? While arguments can be made for all three, with the anti-Crit parameters now in some kits and game modes, I would stay away from a Critical Damage set. Personally, given his base Speed of 393 and already strong offensive stats, I feel a Speed set is your best route, with high offense on every mod used. More details below.
Which Mod Sets to use & Dev Recommendations for SLKR:
The developers at EA Capital Games say Speed and Health mod sets for Supreme Leader Kylo Ren and I agree 100%. My SLKR is at 578 speed and incredibly effective in multiple game modes, and the addition of Rey (Dark Side Vision) will only enhance that. If you can find the right secondary stat gains with added speed, offense and health, Supreme Leader Kylo Ren will be a difference-maker on your roster. With all of this in having been said, here is what I am recommending for the best mods for Supreme Leader Kylo Ren:
- Transmitter (Square) – The Transmitter mod always has a primary focus on offense. For SLKR, you want to use a SPEED mod here and be sure to closely look at the secondary stats to ensure that you get a heavy secondary focus on speed, offense, critical chance and health.
- Receiver (Arrow) – The Receiver mod can have a primary focus on several stats including speed, critical avoidance, accuracy, health, protection, defense and offense. For Supreme Leader Kylo Ren, you want to use a HEALTH mod here with a primary focus on speed and a secondary focus on offense, critical chance, health and potency.
- Processor (Diamond) – The Processor is always going to have a primary focus on defense. For Supreme Leader Kylo Ren, you want to use a SPEED mod here with a secondary focus on speed, offense, health and critical chance.
- Holo-Array (Triangle) – The Holo-Array is a very specialized mod that can have a primary focus on critical chance, critical damage, health, protection, offense and defense. For Supreme Leader Kylo Ren, you want to use a SPEED mod here with a primary focus on Critical Damage and a secondary focus on speed, offense, health and critical chance.
- Data-Bus (Circle) – The Data-bus mod always has a primary focus on either health or protection, so use a HEALTH mod with a focus on Health because SLKR has such a high base Health stat. The secondary focus stats should be speed, offense, health and critical chance.
- Multiplexer (Plus) – The Multiplexer (plus or cross) mod can have a primary focus on potency, tenacity, health, protection, defense offense. For Supreme Leader Kylo Ren, you want to use a SPEED mod here with an Offense focus, making sure to have your mod sets complete. For the secondary stats, look to add speed, offense, health and critical chance.
