The History of 4-LOM

Posted on March 10, 2023February 4, 2025 by ljcool110

4-LOM is a droid character in the Star Wars universe. He is a protocol droid who was reprogrammed by the bounty hunter Zuckuss to become an assassin droid. 4-LOM first appeared in the novel “The Empire Strikes Back” in 1980, and later made appearances in other Star Wars media, including comics and video games.

4-LOM was originally designed to serve as a protocol droid, but his programming was later altered to allow him to function as an assassin droid. He was equipped with a variety of weapons, including a flamethrower, a stun gun, and a blaster rifle.

During the Galactic Civil War, 4-LOM worked as a bounty hunter, often teaming up with his partner Zuckuss. They were hired by the Empire to capture the Rebel Han Solo and his ship, the Millennium Falcon. However, they were unsuccessful in their mission, and 4-LOM later joined the Alliance to Restore the Republic.

After the fall of the Empire, 4-LOM continued to work as a bounty hunter, taking on a number of high-profile jobs. He was known for his cold and calculating demeanor, and was often regarded as one of the most dangerous bounty hunters in the galaxy.

4-LOM’s story continued in the expanded universe of Star Wars, which is no longer considered canon. In this expanded universe, 4-LOM was instrumental in the formation of the criminal organization Black Sun, and played a key role in the defeat of the Yuuzhan Vong invasion.

Overall, 4-LOM is a fascinating character in the Star Wars universe. His journey from a protocol droid to a deadly assassin and bounty hunter highlights the complexity of the Star Wars universe and the many different beings who inhabit it.
