The newest Pirate unit to join Galaxy of Heroes is here, and that means that it is time to review the best mods for Brutus. During my time with Gaming Fans I started the “best mods” series of articles which turned out to be what put the site on the radar of the community and with EA Capital Games. While my days with Gaming Fans are well behind me, writing these mod guides continues to be a way for me to continue to enjoy Galaxy of Heroes, now almost a decade since I started playing. I will seek to keep the same high quality content going as I continue the “best mods in SWGoH” series today with the Best Mods for Brutus.
The newest character in Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes, Brutus is a Marquee character who joined the game in mid-August 2025. A member of the new Pirate faction, Brutus is a required character to unlock Pirate King Hondo Ohnaka, needed at Relic 7. In the game, Brutus is a Dark Side Attacker and a member of the Scoundrel and Pirate factions. Let’s take a look at how we want to focus the mod stat gains for Brutus in Galaxy of Heroes.

Main Mod Stats to focus on…
Brutus is an Attacker and a damage dealer on the Galactic Legend Hondo Ohnaka team, so you already know he will get boosts in Offense, Speed, Defense and Tenacity from his leader. But Brutus himself can inflict a variety of debuffs and gains extra Offense, so while added Potency is good, significant boosts in damage from mods are a definite. As a result, adding to Brutus’ CC and CD will help him get bigger hits in and more frequent big hits. Finally, Speed is essential on almost every Attacker, so boost his Speed and all offensive stats along with Potency to get the most out of Brutus.
Which Mod Sets to use & Dev Recommendations for Brutus
As stated above, Brutus is an Attacker and a damage dealer on the Pirate King Hondo team, so modding him to enhance his attacks is the way to go. The devs have stated that an Offense set and a Critical Chance set are recommended for the 15% Offense and 8% Crit Chance boosts, and over 45% of the top 1000 Kyber GAC players in Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes agree. As a result of this and thanks to a lot of testing, I see no reason to outthink the room. Here are my recommendations for the best mods for the Brutus:
- Transmitter (Square) – The Transmitter mod always has a primary focus on offense.
- Recommended Mod Type: Critical Chance
- Recommended Secondary Stats: speed, potency, offense and critical chance or defense
- Receiver (Arrow) – The Receiver mod can have a primary focus on several stats including speed, critical avoidance, accuracy, health, protection, defense and offense.
- Recommended Mod Type: Offense mod, Speed focus
- Recommended Secondary Stats: potency, offense, critical chance and defense
- Processor (Diamond) – The Processor is always going to have a primary focus on defense.
- Recommended Mod Type: Offense
- Recommended Secondary Stats: speed, potency, offense and critical chance or defense
- Holo-Array (Triangle) – The Holo-Array is a very specialized mod that can have a primary focus on critical chance, critical damage, health, protection, offense and defense.
