During my time at Gaming-fans.com I started the “best mods” series of articles which turned out to be what put the site on the radar of the community and with EA Capital Games. While I enjoyed our brief time with a communicative Capital Games consistently working myself and the other SWGoH GameChangers, there was an inability to support that level of community engagement from within CG, so I became just another member of the community, only with a bit more of a public voice. Now that my days with Gaming-fans.com are well behind me, I will seek to keep the same kind of content going as I resume the “best mods in SWGoH” series today with the Best Mods for CC-1119 “Appo.”
CC-1119 “Appo” is, at the time of this writing, the newest character in Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes. The first Dark Side Clone Trooper in the game, he is the beginning of the new Lord Vader team that looks to be one of the top teams in SWGoH once complete. Appo is a Dark Side Attacker and a Clone Trooper who is a member of the Empire faction, and he can summon the all-new Knightfall Trooper into the 6th slot available in battles. Let’s take a look at how we want to focus the mod stat gains for CC-1119 “Appo” in Galaxy of Heroes.
Note that I have learned that I get a bit wordy in these Best Mods articles, so as a result the TL;DR on mods for CC-1119 “Appo” is below.
Main Mod Stats to focus on…
CC-1119 “Appo” checks in with a base Speed of 188, good for around 20th best in the game. With a base Speed near 190 that puts him in line for Speed set consideration right away, before even reviewing the rest of his kit and stats. Looking first at the abilities of Appo and the Nightfall Trooper, there is a lot of Advantage and Defense Penetration Up being spread around and used to gain extra attacks for the team. That immediately leads me toward a more offensive approach with mods. Looking at the stats, Appo has a solid Physical Damage stat and his Relic upgrades impact his Physical Damage, Critical Chance and Armor Penetration. However, a deeper dive into his abilities enhance those stats quite nicely. When Appo hs Dramatic Entrance, he gains a +25% Offense boost and deals True Damage, and when there is an allied Knightfall Trooper Appo has +50% Offense. Add in the buffs mentioned above and Appo has the potential top be a heavy-hitter.
In terms of survivability, for now I am just going with general Health and Protection with no major emphasis on any of the survivability stats. Once we have this entire team together we will know more and I will revise this to ensure that the CC-1119 Appo mods are optimized for us all.
Modding CC-1119 “Appo” for the Revenge of the Sith / Operation Knightfall Raid:
With the addition of the new Raid, which we’re still waiting for an official name for at this time, I am sure that mods for CC-1119 “Appo” will be an important thing to review. When the time comes we will update this information here to help the SWGoH community out in deciding on the best Appo mods, but it seems a safe bet that they will remain offense-driven mods to maximize damage.
Which Mod Sets to use & Dev Recommendations for CC-1119 “Appo”
CC-1119 “Appo” is a Dark Side Attacker with good Speed who will pack a nice punch on the new Lord Vader team. The developers are suggesting Critical Chance and Offense mods and I have no reason to argue this point given what I am seeing so far. - Transmitter (Square) – The Transmitter mod always has a primary focus on offense. For CC-1119 Appo, you want to use a OFFENSE mod here and be sure to closely look at the secondary stats to ensure that you get a heavy secondary focus on speed, offense, critical chance and health or protection.
- Receiver (Arrow) – The Receiver mod can have a primary focus on several stats including speed, critical avoidance, accuracy, health, protection, defense and offense. For CC-1119 Appo, you want to use a OFFENSE mod here with a primary focus on speed and a secondary focus on offense, critical chance, health & protection.

For CC-1119 Appo, you want to use a CRITICAL CHANCE mod here with a primary focus on Critical Damage and a secondary focus on speed, offense, critical chance and health or protection.
- Data-Bus (Circle) – The Data-bus mod always has a primary focus on either health or protection, and for Appo go with a CRITICAL CHANCE mod with either a health or protection focus for the primary. The secondary focus stats should be speed, offense, critical chance and health or protection.
- Multiplexer (Plus) – The Multiplexer (plus or cross) mod can have a primary focus on potency, tenacity, health, protection, defense or offense.
