Welcome to the Best Mods for Rey, the latest in my series of “best mods in SWGoH” articles, as we cover the Galactic Legend characters in Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes. It was mod articles like this one that put my old site on the radar of the community and with EA Capital Games. Over the years I have written literally hundreds of mod guides, including almost all of the original best mods guides over at Gaming-fans.com. Now that my days with Gaming Fans are behind me, I am working to keep the same kind of content going as I resume the “best mods” series today covering one of the most impactful Star Wars characters of all-time with the Best Mods for Galactic Legend Rey.
One of two Galactic Legends released to introduce the community to the idea of “Galactic Legend” level characters, Rey and Supreme Leader Kylo Ren joined Galaxy of Heroes in March of 2020. The star of the Sequel Trilogy, Rey is a Light Side Attacker, Unaligned Force User and Galactic Legend who is a member of the Resistance faction. Let’s take a moment to look at how mods will enhance Rey’s strong kit and maximize her on your roster.
Note that I have been told that I can get a bit long-winded when writing these mod guides. As a result, if you simply want the TL;DR on how to mod Galactic Legend Rey, it is below.
Main Mod Stats to focus on…
The stats that really make Rey effective are Offense and Health. Her Max Health is critical to her teams as her Lifeblood special takes 25% of her Health and gives it to a Light Side ally as Bonus Protection and her basic has +50% Health Steal (+100% when under 50% Health). Thus, more Health = more effective when it comes to survivability of the team she leads. Offensively, you want to focus on increasing her Physical Damage with pure Offense. While some may think that CC and CD would help a character like Rey who can hit hard, her Ultimate, Heir to the Jedi, deals True Damage and cannot critically hit, so keeping with the Offense focus over CC/CD is your best move. Finally, as with all Galactic Legend characters, Rey has a crazy fast base Speed of 398 which is the fastest in the game, so a Speed set is in play, but based on your own mod inventory you will have to choose between the Speed set or Offense set.
Which Mod Sets to use & Dev Recommendations for Galactic Legend Rey:
The developers at EA Capital Games are recommending Speed & Health mods for Rey and they are not wrong, but this is not what I see as the BEST mod set for Rey in SWGoH. Rey is an offensive character who you want taking turns whenever possible, so Speed is a must, and Health is the key survivability stat for Rey and her team. But loading up on Offense will make her Sudden Whirlwind and ultimate hit even harder, and often times these are the main offense in battles in multiple different game modes. I would recommend using the best and fastest combination of Offense and Health mods you have on her if she is important on your roster, and if you have Rey unlocked, then she is definitely important for your game. My mod recommendations for Rey are the following:
- Transmitter (Square) – The Transmitter mod always has a primary focus on offense. For Rey, you want to use a OFFENSE mod here and be sure to closely look at the secondary stats to ensure that you get a heavy secondary focus on speed, health and offense.
- Receiver (Arrow) – The Receiver mod can have a primary focus on several stats including speed, critical avoidance, accuracy, health, protection, defense and offense. For Rey, you want to use a HEALTH mod and can have a primary focus on Speed, Health or Offense, but be sure to have strong secondary stats enhancing speed, health, offense and tenacity as well.
- Processor (Diamond) – The Processor is always going to have a primary focus on defense. For Galactic Legend Rey, you want to use a OFFENSE mod here with a secondary focus on speed, health and offense.
- Holo-Array (Triangle) – The Holo-Array is a very specialized mod that can have a primary focus on critical chance, critical damage, health, protection, offense and defense. For Rey, you want to use a HEALTH mod here with a primary focus on Health or Offense and a secondary focus speed, health and offense.
- Data-Bus (Circle) – The Data-bus mod always has a primary focus on either health or protection, so use a OFFENSE mod with a focus on Health because Rey is thirsty for a high Health stat. The secondary focus stats should be speed, health, offense and tenacity.
- Multiplexer (Plus) – The Multiplexer (plus or cross) mod can have a primary focus on potency, tenacity, health, protection, defense offense. For Galactic Legend Rey, you want to use a OFFENSE mod here with a Health or Offense focus, making sure to have your mod sets complete. For the secondary stats, look to add speed, health and offense.
