There is on huge problem facing Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes right now, a problem that continues to get worse and does not seem to be of concern to the EA Capital Games development team, at least not on the surface. In a video published yesterday, on September 29th, popular Galaxy of Heroes YouTuber AhnaldT101 addressed this problem and I hope this brings more attention to the issue – Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes has become a time sink. In the video he mentions the Territory War format which literally requires high-end guild leaders to stay awake 24 hours or run specific work-like shifts to be competitive, the Grand Arena which 18+ battles to clear the board, the Rise of the Empire Territory Battle, which now with bonus missions and added planets can take 2-3 hours a day to complete all missions, the time-consuming Naboo Raid, Conquest and more. Specifically though, my favorite mention in the video was when he addressed this exact week of the month – a brand new Territory Battle starting up during the Grand Arena attack phase and the start of a new 2-week Conquest, a game mode that is reliant on a strong start to achieve the max reward. Add in the possibility that some unlucky guilds could also be in the middle of the Naboo Raid during a day like today, and SWGoH looks like a full time job. A game should NEVER feel like work, and that is what SWGoH is starting to feel like…
My personal take is this – I HATE this week with a passion. It was the time sink that caused me to drop Marvel Strike Force after 4+ years of daily play, and while I am about to reach 9 years of daily play for SWGoH, the current state of the game is hindered badly by this specific issue. A quality of life update to free up time for those of us who have invested countless hours and dollars into the game is needed, and it is going to hurt the long-term success of SWGoH if EA Capital Games does not address this topic. Let’s hope that AhnaldT101’s video lights a fire under the butt of someone at CG to do something about it.
