As more characters are added to SWGoH, we cannot ignore how older characters are impacted and how the game continues to evolve. Today I start the Best Mods for 0-0-0, aka Triple Zero, one of Doctor Aphra’s “Murder Droids” in Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes. During my time with Gaming Fans I started the “best mods” series of articles which turned out to be what put the site on the radar of the community and with EA Capital Games. While my days with Gaming Fans are well behind me, I have been writing mod guides like this one since the early days of mods when they were added to SWGoH in 2018. Fortunately, writing these mod guides continues to be a way for me to continue to enjoy Galaxy of Heroes now that I have been playing this game for over a decade. I will seek to keep the same high quality content going as I continue the “best mods in SWGoH” series today with the Best Mods for 0-0-0.
Today we’re spotlighting 0-0-0, better known as Triple-Zero, who entered SWGoH in October 2022 during a major Doctor Aphra content push. In Marvel’s canon Star Wars: Doctor Aphra, Triple-Zero is a protocol droid modeled after C-3PO—but reprogrammed to specialize in interrogation, torture, and manipulation. Cold, calculating, and disturbingly polite, he serves as one of the most dangerous creations allied with Doctor Aphra.
Alongside his equally destructive counterpart BT-1, a homicidal astromech packed with hidden weaponry, Triple-Zero forms a chaotic Dark Side duo. SWGoH captures that twisted synergy by pairing the two as Dark Side Droids with strong Scoundrel interactions. Let’s break down the best mod builds to maximize Triple-Zero’s control, damage output, and overall value on your roster.
Note that I have learned that I get a bit wordy in these Best Mods articles, so as a result the TL;DR on mods for 0-0-0 is below. Also, I added a new(er) format on the recommendations below which I hope will help make these best mods articles easier to decipher.
Main Mod Stats to focus on…
When modding 0-0-0, the primary emphasis should be Speed. With a base Speed of 181, Triple-Zero aligns with many of the faster modern-era characters and benefits greatly from a four-piece Speed set for the +10% bonus. Even so, if Doctor Aphra is leading the squad, her Turn Meter mechanics typically ensure she still takes the opening turn. That means you can aggressively stack Speed on 0-0-0 without worrying about disrupting the team’s natural turn order.
Beyond Speed, Potency is absolutely critical. The Aphra droid core is built around disruptive debuffs, and Triple-Zero’s ability to apply Shock, Stun, and Torture makes high Potency essential—triple-digit Potency is a realistic and effective target. Offense should follow closely behind, as he deals Special Damage and needs added punch due to a modest base Critical Chance. Tenacity is also worth investment thanks to his already strong base stat at higher gear levels, helping him resist control effects and stay active. For survivability, prioritize Protection over Health, as both 0-0-0 and BT-1 have higher base Protection pools.
It’s also important to consider the recent addition of IG-90 in the Era of the Anniversary as a true “lifter” unit for the Aphra lineup. IG-90 elevates the squad’s overall damage ceiling and survivability, allowing 0-0-0 to lean even harder into his control and disruption role rather than trying to carry raw damage output. With IG-90 amplifying the team’s offensive pressure and synergy, properly modded Speed and Potency on Triple-Zero become even more impactful, turning the Aphra droid trio into a far more dangerous and competitive squad across GAC, Territory Wars, and beyond.
Which Mod Sets to use & Dev Recommendations for 0-0-0 (Triple Zero)
For 0-0-0, the devs hit the nail on the head with their recommended Speed & Potency sets. As soon as Triple Zero was released, it was clear that Speed and Potency were very important to the droid’s success, and the addition of IG-90 to the Doctor Aphra team further cements this. As a result, the only reason to not go with a Speed set and a Potency set is simply a lack of mod inventory or a lack of emphasis on this character overall. Here are my recommendations for 0-0-0:
