During my time at Gaming Fans.com I started the “best mods” series of articles which turned out to be what put the site on the radar of the community and with EA Capital Games. While I enjoyed our brief time with a communicative Capital Games consistently working myself and the other SWGoH GameChangers, there was an inability to support that level of community engagement from within CG, so I became just another member of the community, only with a bit more of a public voice. Now that my days with Gaming Fans are well behind me, I will seek to keep the same kind of content going as I resume the “best mods in SWGoH” series today with the Best Mods for RC-1262 “Scorch”.
The newest character in Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes, Commander Scorch is the final of 4 clones to assist Lord Vader on his new team, a team that looks to be one of the top teams in SWGoH now that it is complete. Scorch, designated RC-1262, was a clone commando who served in the Grand Army of the Republic during the Clone Wars and later in the Galactic Empire under Project War-Mantle and the Advanced Science Division, holding the rank of Clone Commander. In Galaxy of Heroes, Scorch is a Dark Side Tank and a Clone Trooper who is a member of the Empire faction. Let’s take a look at how we want to focus the mod stat gains for RC-1262 “Scorch” in Galaxy of Heroes.
Note that I have learned that I get a bit wordy in these Best Mods articles, so as a result the TL;DR on mods for RC-1262 “Scorch” is below.
Main Mod Stats to focus on…
Speed is not going to be a main focus for Scorch, and with the designation as a Tank, RC-1262 “Scorch” is here to eat up enemy attacks, thus he will need loads of survivability. As a result be sure to add significant Health, Protection, Defense and Tenacity, with a heavy emphasis on Health and Defense, to help him act as a thick meat shield and keep enemies from attacking Lord Vader, Appo, CX-2 and Disguised Clone Trooper. In addition to survivability stats he also assists Lord Vader’s Damage Over Time debuffs by applying them himself, so adding Potency will help his Breaching Charge special apply DoTs and Off Balance debuffs. Also grab any mods with Tenacity as a secondary stat when you can as warding off detrimental effects will make any tank more effective.
Modding Commander Scorch for the Revenge of the Sith / Operation Knightfall Raid:
With the addition of the new Revenge of the Sith Raid, which we’re still waiting for an official name for at this time, I am sure that mods for RC-1262 “Scorch” will be an important thing to review. While the Empire team that will be used will not have Lord Vader as the leader, but instead Grand Moff Tarkin, the Dark Side Clones are supposed to be one of the main teams in this new Raid. When the time comes we will update this information here to help the SWGoH community out in deciding on the best Scorch mods.
Which Mod Sets to use & Dev Recommendations for RC-1262 “Scorch”
RC-1262 “Scorch” is a Dark Side Tank with a nice synergy with Appo, CX-2, DCT and Lord Vader. His ability to grant Protection Up means you want a high Health stat and adding significant Defense will make the Bulwark buff more effective. Adding Potency will help him land debuffs, and a little Tenacity will not hurt. I expect the devs from EA Capital Games to come out with Health and Defense mods as the recommendations, but I could see Tenacity being mentioned as well. Now that we have the entire team of Dark Side Clones, here are my recommendations for the best mods for RC-1262 “Scorch”:
- Transmitter (Square) – The Transmitter mod always has a primary focus on offense. For Scorch, you want to use a DEFENSE mod here and be sure to closely look at the secondary stats to ensure that you get a heavy secondary focus on health, defense, tenacity and potency or protection.
- Receiver (Arrow) – The Receiver mod can have a primary focus on several stats including speed, critical avoidance, accuracy, health, protection, defense and offense. For RC-1262 “Scorch”, you want to use a HEALTH mod here with a primary focus on Health, Defense or Critical Avoidance and a secondary focus on health, defense, tenacity and potency or protection.
- Processor (Diamond) – The Processor is always going to have a primary focus on defense. For RC-1262 “Scorch”, you want to use a DEFENSE mod here with a secondary focus on health, defense, potency and tenacity or protection.
- Holo-Array (Triangle) – The Holo-Array is a very specialized mod that can have a primary focus on critical chance, critical damage, health, protection, offense and defense. For Scorch, you want to use a HEALTH mod here with a primary focus on Health or Defense and a secondary focus on health, defense, tenacity and protection.
- Data-Bus (Circle) – The Data-bus mod always has a primary focus on either health or protection, and for RC-1262 “Scorch” go with a HEALTH mod with a health focus for the primary. The secondary focus stats should be defense, potency, health and tenacity or protection.
- Multiplexer (Plus) – The Multiplexer (plus or cross) mod can have a primary focus on potency, tenacity, health, protection, defense or offense. For Scorch, you want to use a HEALTH mod here with a focus on Health or Defense, making sure to have your mod sets complete. For the secondary stats look to add health, defense, tenacity and potency or protection.
