During my time at Gaming Fans.com I started the “best mods” series of articles which turned out to be what put the site on the radar of the community and with EA Capital Games. While I enjoyed our brief time with a communicative Capital Games consistently working myself and the other SWGoH GameChangers, there was an inability to support that level of community engagement from within CG, so I became just another member of the community, only with a bit more of a public voice. Now that my days with Gaming Fans are well behind me, I will seek to keep the same kind of content going as I resume the “best mods in SWGoH” series today with the Best Mods for Disguised Clone Trooper.
The newest character in Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes, Disguised Clone Trooper is the 3rd of 4 clones to assist Lord Vader on his new team, a team that looks to be one of the top teams in SWGoH once complete. Disguised Clone Trooper (DCT) follows the Star Wars lore that Clone Troopers would disguise themselves in robes to eliminate Jedi survivors returning to the Jedi Temple. In Galaxy of Heroes, Disguised Clone Trooper is a Dark Side Support and a Clone Trooper who is a member of the Empire faction. Let’s take a look at how we want to focus the mod stat gains for Disguised Clone Trooper in Galaxy of Heroes.
Note that I have learned that I get a bit wordy in these Best Mods articles, so as a result the TL;DR on mods for Disguised Clone Trooper is below.
Main Mod Stats to focus on…
With a base Speed of 191, Disguised Clone Trooper is one of the fastest non-Galactic Legends in Galaxy of Heroes. This automatically prequalifies him for a set of four Speed mods. A dealer of Special Damage, he has a very low base Special Critical Chance, a very high base Tenacity and all of his other base stats are mediocre at best. However, “at the start of encounter, Disguised Clone Trooper gains 30% Offense.” This brings his Special Damage up to a much more impactful level and his ability to deal with”massive damage” makes him a potential offensive powerhouse, especially at higher Relic levels. The Well-Executed Ambush has the potential to be quite powerful as well as it is based on the number of stacks of Damage Over Time and if DCT has the Ruse buff.
Right away, the Speed stat sticks out and added Offense is certainly going to help. Adding Health and Protection will be impactful for his survivability, as he regains 15% Health and Protection each turn if DCT is under Stealth.
Modding Disguised Clone Trooper for the Revenge of the Sith / Operation Knightfall Raid:
With the addition of the new Operation Knightfall Raid, which we’re still waiting for an official name for at this time, I am sure that mods for Disguised Clone Trooper will be an important thing to review. While the Empire team that will be used will not have Lord Vader as the leader, but instead Grand Moff Tarkin, the Dark Side Clones are supposed to be one of the main teams in this new Raid. When the time comes we will update this information here to help the SWGoH community out in deciding on the best Disguised Clone Trooper mods.
Which Mod Sets to use & Dev Recommendations for Disguised Clone Trooper
Disguised Clone Trooper is a Dark Side Support with a nice synergy with Appo, CX-2 and Lord Vader. While his stats are not terribly impressive, if he can stay under Stealth and help use the DoTs against his enemies he will be an effective character to support Lord Vader. While we await the dev recommendations, I am suggesting a Speed set and a Health or Tenacity set to improve survivability. So with all of this information, here are my recommendations for the best mods for Disguised Clone Trooper:
- Transmitter (Square) – The Transmitter mod always has a primary focus on offense. For CX-2, you want to use a SPEED mod here and be sure to closely look at the secondary stats to ensure that you get a heavy secondary focus on speed, tenacity, health and offense.
- Receiver (Arrow) – The Receiver mod can have a primary focus on several stats including speed, critical avoidance, accuracy, health, protection, defense and offense. For CX-2, you want to use a SPEED mod here with a primary focus on speed and a secondary focus on tenacity, potency, health and offense.
- Processor (Diamond) – The Processor is always going to have a primary focus on defense. For CX-2, you want to use a SPEED mod here with a secondary focus on speed, potency, health and offense.
- Holo-Array (Triangle) – The Holo-Array is a very specialized mod that can have a primary focus on critical chance, critical damage, health, protection, offense and defense. For CX-2, you want to use a HEALTH/TENACITY mod here with a primary focus on Offense and a secondary focus on speed, potency, health and offense.
- Data-Bus (Circle) – The Data-bus mod always has a primary focus on either health or protection, and for CX-2 go with a HEALTH/TENACITY mod with a health focus for the primary. The secondary focus stats should be speed, potency, health and offense.
- Multiplexer (Plus) – The Multiplexer (plus or cross) mod can have a primary focus on potency, tenacity, health, protection, defense or offense. For CX-2, you want to use a SPEED mod here with a focus on Potency, making sure to have your mod sets complete. For the secondary stats look to add speed, tenacity, health and offense.
