During my time at Gaming-fans.com I started the “best mods” series of articles which turned out to be what put the site on the radar of the community and with EA Capital Games. While I enjoyed our brief time with a communicative Capital Games consistently working myself and the other SWGoH GameChangers, there was an inability to support that level of community engagement from within CG, so I became just another member of the community, only with a bit more of a public voice. Now that my days with Gaming Fans are well behind me, I will seek to keep the same kind of content going as I resume the “best mods in SWGoH” series today with the Best Mods for Jocasta Nu.
One of the newest characters in Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes, Jocasta Nu is the prize of the February, March, April 2025 Conquest season. A member of the new Jedi Vanguard faction, Jocasta Nu is expected to work alongside the new Legendary Jedi Master Mace Windu on a powerful new Jedi Vanguard team. Along with these two are expected to be the two new marquee characters in SWGoH, Jedi Temple Guard and Adi Gallia, and a 5th Jedi Vanguard member which will likely be a character most have not invested into like Ima-Gun Di or Eeth Koth. For now, we know that Jocasta Nu is a Light Side Attacker who is a member of the Galactic Republic, Jedi and Jedi Vanguard factions. Let’s take a look at how we want to focus the mod stat gains for Jocasta Nu in Galaxy of Heroes.
Note that I have learned that I get a bit wordy in these Best Mods articles, so as a result the TL;DR on mods for Jocasta Nu is below.
Main Mod Stats to focus on…
While her survivability stats are nothing to get excited about at first, Jocasta Nu does have a Special Damage base stat that is the 7th highest in the game at the time of this writing. In addition, while most dealers of Special Damage have a relatively low Special Critical Chance, Jocasta Nu hits 27.75% Special CC at Gear 13, maxing out at 47.25% before mods at Relic 9. Right away, an Offense or Critical Damage set is in play due to these stats, and a Critical Chance set is as well. Speed also has to be in play because she is an Attacker, and because both Speed Up and the doubling of her Speed are baked into her kit. She has the ability to spread existing enemy debuffs, and she buffs her own team while removing enemy buffs, and the survivability mentioned above is dealt with in her unique, Jedi Archivist. To start, Jocasta Nu has +25% Max Protection (increased to 50% if all allies are Jedi Vanguard) at the start of battle and is immune to Protection Disruption. In addition, “Whenever she attacks an Exposed enemy she recovers 20% Protection. Whenever she recovers Protection gain 10% Offense (stacking) for the rest of the encounter. Whenever she or an enemy gains Foresight, dispel it, she gains Deflective Ward, which can’t be dispelled, until she receives damage, recovers 20% Protection, and gains 20% Turn Meter (once per turn).” So as you can see, there is a lot of Protection-based boosts in her unique, and Protection is the one area of survivability to focus on as we await the Jedi Master Mace Windu kit and leader ability. Finally, adding Potency will help ensure debuffs stick on enemies and Jocasta Nu should be able to use debuffs from her kit to help weaken her enemies.
Modding Jocasta Nu for the Revenge of the Sith / Operation Knightfall Raid:
With the addition of the new Operation Knightfall Raid, which we’re still waiting for an official name for at this time, I am sure that mods for Jocasta Nu will be an important thing to review. While the Jedi Vanguard faction is going to be a part of this Raid, we still do not know if it will be the entire faction, select characters or what, although I am sure that Jocasta Nu, Jedi Master Mace Windu, Adi Gallia and the Jedi Temple Guard will be important pieces of this new puzzle. When the time comes we will update this information here to help the SWGoH community out in deciding on the best Jocasta Nu mods.
Which Mod Sets to use & Dev Recommendations for Jocasta Nu
Jocasta Nu appears to be built around offensive stats as an Attacker and Protection as the main survivability stat. As a result, my recommendations for the best mods for Jedi Vanguard Jocasta Nu are the following:
- Transmitter (Square) – The Transmitter mod always has a primary focus on offense. For Jocasta Nu, you want to use a POTENCY/HEALTH mod here and be sure to closely look at the secondary stats to ensure that you get a heavy secondary focus on speed, offense, protection and potency or critical chance.
- Receiver (Arrow) – The Receiver mod can have a primary focus on several stats including speed, critical avoidance, accuracy, health, protection, defense and offense. For Jocasta Nu, you have a couple of options. You could use an OFFENSE mod here with a primary focus on speed and a secondary focus on offense, protection, critical chance and potency. OR you could use an OFFENSE mod with a primary focus on protection and a secondary focus on speed, offense, critical chance and potency.
- Processor (Diamond) – The Processor is always going to have a primary focus on defense. For Jocasta Nu, you want to use a OFFENSE mod here with a secondary focus on speed, offense, protection and potency or critical chance.
- Holo-Array (Triangle) – The Holo-Array is a very specialized mod that can have a primary focus on critical chance, critical damage, health, protection, offense and defense. For Jocasta Nu, you want to use a OFFENSE mod here with a primary focus on Critical Damage or Protection and a secondary focus on speed, offense, protection and potency or critical chance.
- Data-Bus (Circle) – The Data-bus mod always has a primary focus on either health or protection, and for Jocasta Nu go with a POTENCY/HEALTH mod with a protection focus for the primary. The secondary focus stats should be speed, offense, protection and potency or critical chance.
- Multiplexer (Plus) – The Multiplexer (plus or cross) mod can have a primary focus on potency, tenacity, health, protection, defense or offense. For Jocasta Nu, you want to use a OFFENSE mod here with a focus on Protection, making sure to have your mod sets complete. For the secondary stats look to add speed, offense, protection and potency or critical chance.
