Mission Vao - SWGoH

SWGoH: Best Mods for Mission Vao

Posted on February 22, 2025February 22, 2025 by ljcool110

Welcome to the latest in my series of “best mods in SWGoH” articles as we look at the Old Republic Twi’lek Mission Vao. It was modding advice and guides like this which put my old site on the radar of the community and with EA Capital Games. Over the years I have written literally hundreds of mod guides, including almost all of the original best mods guides over at Gaming-fans.com. Now that my days with Gaming Fans are behind me, I am working to keep the same kind of content going as I resume the “best mods” series today with the Best Mods for Mission Vao.

Mission Vao, a blue Twi’lek who grew up on the planet of Taris, along with Wookie Zaalbar are two of the most beloved characters in Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (KOTOR). In Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes, Mission Vao has had significant value in past raids, and is always paired up with Zaalbar, so a good modding strategy is important for both. In the game, Mission Vao is a Light Side Attacker who is a member of the Old Republic, Scoundrel and Mercenary factions. Let’s take a look at the mods and stats to enhance Mission Vao in SWGoH.

Note that I have been told that I can get a bit long-winded when writing these mod guides. As a result, if you simply want the TL;DR on how to mod Mission Vao, it is below.

Main Mod Stats to focus on…

Mission Vao is the attacker meant to be used alongside her Wookie protector Zaalbar in 98% of all game modes in SWGoH. With the recent addition of an Omicron for Zaalbar, Mission is about to see a lot more use in the Grand Arena, especially 3v3 GAC. In the 3v3 mode, Zaalbar and Darth Revan team up and gain Mission Vao’s stats making this trio tough to handle. You’re going to want to be smart with your Zaalbar mods to make him as thick as possible, and ensure Mission Vao has very high Speed, Offense, Critical Chance & Critical Damage stats, since these four stats are what get passed on to Zaalbar and Darth Revan upon her death in 3v3. While speed is not really relevant for Zaalbar, Mission Vao should be up around 300 Speed to ensure that in 3v3 she passes as much Speed on to Darth Revan in particular to make him near unbeatable. In 5v5 mode the strategy is the same as you want to debuff your enemies multiple times over, so adding Potency and getting Mission Vao to attack in and out of turn as much as possible is important.

Which Mod Sets to use & Dev Recommendations for Mission Vao:

Looking at Mission Vao’s base stats, she has a solid base Physical Damage stat, enhanced by her unique, and very high Critical Chance. With a high CC and extra Potency from her other unique, you can focus mods on Offense and Speed stat enhancements since Zaalbar’s Omicron increases her Defense and Tenacity. As a result of all of this, here is what I am recommending for the best mods for Mission Vao:

  • Transmitter (Square) – The Transmitter mod always has a primary focus on offense. For Mission Vao, you want to use a SPEED/OFFENSE mod here and be sure to closely look at the secondary stats to ensure that you get a heavy secondary focus on speed, offense, potency and critical chance.
  • Receiver (Arrow) – The Receiver mod can have a primary focus on several stats including speed, critical avoidance, accuracy, health, protection, defense and offense. For Mission Vao, you want to use a SPEED/OFFENSE mod here with a primary focus on Speed and a secondary focus on speed, offense, potency and critical chance.
  • Processor (Diamond) – The Processor is always going to have a primary focus on defense. For Mission Vao, you want to use a CRITICAL CHANCE mod here with a secondary focus on speed, offense, potency and critical chance.
  • Holo-Array (Triangle) – The Holo-Array is a very specialized mod that can have a primary focus on critical chance, critical damage, health, protection, offense and defense. For Mission Vao, you want to use a SPEED/OFFENSE mod here with a primary focus on Critical Damage and a secondary focus on speed, offense, potency and critical chance.
  • Data-Bus (Circle) – The Data-bus mod always has a primary focus on either health or protection, so use an SPEED/OFFENSE mod with a Health primary. The secondary focus stats should be speed, offense, potency and critical chance.
  • Multiplexer (Plus) – The Multiplexer (plus or cross) mod can have a primary focus on potency, tenacity, health, protection, defense offense. For Mission Vao, you want to use a CRITICAL CHANCE mod here with an Offense focus, making sure to have your mod sets complete. For the secondary stats, look to add speed, offense, potency and critical chance.

Mission Vao Mods TL;DR

  • Square – Speed mod with speed, offense & critical chance
  • Arrow – Speed mod, Speed focus with offense & critical chance
  • Diamond – Critical Chance mod with speed, offense & critical chance
  • Triangle – Speed mod, Critical Damage focus with speed, offense & critical chance
  • Circle – Potency mod, Health focus with speed, offense & critical chance
  • Plus – Critical Chance mod, Offense focus with speed, offense & critical chance
