For those looking for a Hunter (Mercenary) mods guide, you have come to the right place. Welcome to the Best Mods for Hunter (Mercenary) article, the latest in my series of “best mods in SWGoH” articles which put my old site on the radar of the community and with EA Capital Games. Over the years I have written literally hundreds of mod guides, including almost all of the original best mods guides over at Gaming-fans.com. Now that my days with Gaming Fans are behind me, I am working to keep the same kind of content going as I resume the “best mods” series today with the Best Mods for Hunter (Mercenary).
Hunter (Mercenary) is the 3rd member of the new Bad Batch team released in 2025, joining the leader, Omega (Fugitive) and Batcher. Unlike Hunter in the original Bad Batch, this version of Hunter is a Support character but retains some of the offensive abilities that the original Hunter possessed. In SWGoH, Hunter (Mercenary) is a Light Side support character in the Bad Batch faction. Let’s take a look at the mods and stats to enhance Hunter (Mercenary) in SWGoH.
Note that I have been told that I can get a bit long-winded when writing these mod guides. As a result, if you simply want the TL;DR on how to mod Batcher, it is below.
Main Mod Stats to focus on…
The fastest member of the new Bad Batch group, Hunter (Mercenary) has a base Speed of 192 and seems well-positioned for a set of four Speed mods. Statistically speaking, none of Hunter’s base stats stick out as incredible, although he does have a high base Tenacity of 94%. However, this new Bad Batch team has multiple offensive gains including +30% Critical Damage and +30% Offense from Omega’s lead and a 30% Offense gain from Batcher’s Piercing Howl special, and we don’t even have Crosshair or Wrecker on the team yet. Hunter (Mercenary) appears to be the classic SWGoH character who is fast and the players then make super fast to get the battle started, so a Speed set is my top choice with a very fast Offense set being an option as well. His ability to land multiple debuffs are the recipe for slowing and stalling the enemy units, so a Potency or CC set would be my recommendation for the other two mod slots, all with high Protection percent gains.
Which Mod Sets to use & Dev Recommendations for Hunter (Mercenary):
Looking at Hunter (Mercenary)’s base stats, while nothing sticks out as special, the team has multiple offensive gains and his unique grants +50% Max Protection to his Bad Batch allies. Adding to the mod information above I would suggest a Speed set and a Potency set with high speed and protection percentage gains. Boosting these with added Offense and Critical Chance should make Hunter (Mercenary) and his teammates quite annoying for anyone to face. As a result of all of this, here is what I am recommending for the best mods for the new Hunter (Mercenary):
- Transmitter (Square) – The Transmitter mod always has a primary focus on offense. For Hunter (Mercenary), you want to use a SPEED mod here and be sure to closely look at the secondary stats to ensure that you get a heavy secondary focus on speed, protection, potency and offense or critical chance.
- Receiver (Arrow) – The Receiver mod can have a primary focus on several stats including speed, critical avoidance, accuracy, health, protection, defense and offense. For Hunter (Mercenary), you want to use a SPEED mod here with a primary focus on speed and a secondary focus on protection, potency, offense and critical chance.
- Processor (Diamond) – The Processor is always going to have a primary focus on defense. For Hunter (Mercenary), you want to use a POTENCY mod here with a secondary focus on speed, protection, potency and offense or critical chance.
- Holo-Array (Triangle) – The Holo-Array is a very specialized mod that can have a primary focus on critical chance, critical damage, health, protection, offense and defense. For Hunter (Mercenary), you want to use a SPEED mod here with a primary focus on Critical Damage and a secondary focus on speed, protection, potency and offense or critical chance.
- Data-Bus (Circle) – The Data-bus mod always has a primary focus on either health or protection, so use an POTENCY mod with a Protection primary. The secondary focus stats should be speed, protection, potency and offense or critical chance.
- Multiplexer (Plus) – The Multiplexer (plus or cross) mod can have a primary focus on potency, tenacity, health, protection, defense offense. For Hunter (Mercenary), you want to use a SPEED mod here with an Offense, Potency or Protection focus, making sure to have your mod sets complete. For the secondary stats, look to add speed, protection, potency and offense or critical chance.
