As I continue to review and learn from how the Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes community consumes their content, I was always able to carve out a niche while at Gaming-fans.com with the Best Mods guides. Now that those days are behind me, I am working to keep the same kind of content going as I work to update the best SWGoH mods series to 2025 standards. While many of these older characters do not call for drastic mod strategy changes, the addition of new characters and Datacrons can change the way we use them or greatly enhance one stat over another. As a result, I am expanding upon the traditional per-character mods guide and allowing those to be the more in-depth guides while adding the following, a faction-based TL;DR of sorts for those who do not like all of my words and just want to know how to quickly mod their characters, one faction at a time.
Today I continue with the new Spectre faction which was added in late 2024 and has two leaders. This will mean that there are multiple combinations of characters who can be used, and I will focus on how to mod your Spectre characters for use with both General Syndulla and Galactic Legend Ahsoka Tano leads. This team includes two older characters in Chopper and Ahsoka Tano (Fulcrum), a Conquest character in Ezra Bridger (Exile) and three Marquee characters – General Syndulla, Padawan Sabine Wren and the droid Huyang. Let’s take a Quick Look at each character included in the Spectre faction and review how mods will be impacted under both leaders.
Ahsoka Tano, Galactic Legend – TBD
General Syndulla – The other leader in the Spectre faction General Syndulla was added to the game weeks before the Galactic Legend version of Ahsoka Tano. When reviewing the best mods for General Syndulla, you have to take into account that she may be your leader or under the leadership of GL Ahsoka, and while this may not change her modding strategy much, it is worth keeping in mind. For General Syndulla, Speed & Health sets are the way to go, and the added Speed will be great with the +150 Speed granted for her first turn from her leader ability. Overall she is a true Support character so keeping General Syndulla alive is critical to your battle’s success.
Ahsoka Tano (Fulcrum) – A character who has never really had a home, it remains to be seen if Ahsoka Tano (Fulcrum), sometimes called FAT by incorrectly placing the moniker “Fulcrum” before her name, will be a permanent member of Spectre teams in the future or if she will once again be largely unused. With General Syndulla’s lead all allies gain 50% Max Health, 50% Max Protection and 150 Speed for their first turn of the battle, and when an ally deals multiple instances of damage on their turn, they also inflict 6 stacks of Damage Over Time (DoT) as well, which definitely will make Fulcrum Ahsoka even more effective. Offense & Health sets are the way to go with mods for Ahsoka Tano (Fulcrum), but when the Galactic Legend Ahsoka is released this could change a bit.
Chopper – Chopper is the character on this team that may differ the most from a GL Ahsoka lead to a General Syndulla lead. In the Rebels series and the Ahsoka series, Chopper is almost alway by Hera’s side, and her Perfect Defense buff feels like it was built into her kit to make C1-10P more durable. While the devs recommend Speed & Defense mods for Chopper in SWGoH, I feel like Health and Defense mods are more suitable for a General Syndulla lead.
Ezra Bridger (Exile) – EBE is a tricky one to mod. The devs say Health mods, but the top players in the game have made a strong statement with a Speed set and a Health set being use by over 70% of the top Kyber competitors in SWGoH. So what is the best mod combination for Ezra Bridger (Exile)? It really comes down to the depth of mods that you have and if you can afford to put another Speed set with strong Speed secondaries on EBE.
Huyang – A Spectre Attacker, Huyang is designed to add offense to this group and the devs and I agree that and Offense set and a CC set are the bets way to go. With almost all Attackers you want speed, and adding Potency will help Huyang land debuffs.
Padawan Sabine Wren – An easy character to assess, when reviewing mods for Padawan Sabine Wren it is key to now that she is an Attacker who needs offensive gains and benefits from critical hits. As a result, pick your poison between an Offense or Critical Damage set and add a 2-mod set of CC mods, getting as much Speed as possible from the secondary stats.
Garazeb “Zeb” Orrelios – While Zeb is not a member of the Spectre faction, he does get treated as such under a General Syndulla lead, so a refresher on how to best mod Garazeb “Zeb” Orrelios in SWGoH is warranted, especially given how old other publications have become. My review found that with General Syndulla’s lead, Zeb’s role as a Tank should be key to his modding with a more survivability focus using Health and Defense mods.
