Welcome to the Best Mods for General Syndulla article, the latest in my series of “best mods in SWGoH” articles which put my old site on the radar of the community and with EA Capital Games. Over the years I have written literally hundreds of mod guides, including almost all of the original best mods guides over at Gaming-fans.com. Now that my days with Gaming Fans are behind me, I am working to keep the same kind of content going as I resume the “best mods” series today with the Best Mods for General Syndulla.
General Syndulla was a character in the Ahsoka series and is the second iteration of Hera Syndulla in Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes. A member of the new Spectre faction, General Syndulla is the final of a record number of Marquee characters required to unlock Ahsoka Tano, Galactic Legend, required at Relic 5. She has a leader ability which will allow for players who do not unlock the new Ahsoka Tano early and is a Light Side Support, Leader and member of the Spectre faction. Let’s take a look at the mods and stats to enhance General Syndulla in SWGoH.
Note that I have been told that I can get a bit long-winded when writing these mod guides. As a result, if you simply want the TL;DR on how to mod General Syndulla, it is below.
Main Mod Stats to focus on…
Based on her character in the Ahsoka series, General Syndulla has a very strong kit that is anti-Fracture which poses an interesting counter to Grand Admiral Thrawn and Galactic Legend Leia Organa specifically. As a Support character, General Syndulla’s base offensive stats are not terribly impressive except for her 94% Potency which is reached at Gear 13. She has the ability to remove Turn Meter from enemies and grants allies with Exile and Perfect Defense an additional 40% Defense Penetration while making her allies stronger and more effective. As a result of this, keeping General Syndulla alive and building on her base Speed of 179 seems key.
I do think that the mods you use will be largely the same, but will change a bit based on if you unlock Galactic Legend Ahsoka Tano early and use her as the leader of the Spectre team, or if you are using General Syndulla as the leader. I really like how the devs have made both options available to players as not everyone will unlock the new Ahsoka right away. General Syndulla has an intriguing leader ability granting Spectre allies and Garazeb “Zen” Orrelios 50% Max Health and Max Protection as well as 150 Speed for one turn to start the battle. She reduces the offense of enemies with the Exile and Off Balance debuffs, heals allies, enhances Ahsoka Tano (Fulcrum)‘s special, and applies Damage Immunity to further frustrate enemies. Overall, keeping General Syndulla alive is key and her ability to start a battle with +150 Speed means a Speed set has to be in play for her very strong kit of abilities.
Which Mod Sets to use & Dev Recommendations
General Syndulla is a Support character and the devs recommend Speed & Health sets. I had a hunch that they would do this, but with a base Speed of just 179 I did not feel like they would have started her off 15-20 slower than their faster characters and then suggest Speed mods. That aside, keeping General Syndulla alive remains key to the team’s viability is she is the Spectre leader, and once our Galactic Legend Ahsoka Tano is in-game I expect the same will be true. While her teammates will benefit from increased Defense, her kit does not read in such a way that will have her benefit as much by Defense boosts, so I would grab any survivability and speed gains possible. Thus, here is what I am recommending for the best mods for the Twi’lek New Republic General Syndulla:
- Transmitter (Square) – The Transmitter mod always has a primary focus on offense. For General Syndulla, you want to use a HEALTH mod here and be sure to closely look at the secondary stats to ensure that you get a heavy secondary focus on speed, potency, health and defense/protection.
- Receiver (Arrow) – The Receiver mod can have a primary focus on several stats including speed, critical avoidance, accuracy, health, protection, defense and offense. For General Syndulla, you want to use a HEALTH mod here with a primary focus on speed and a secondary focus on defense, health, potency and protection.
- Processor (Diamond) – The Processor is always going to have a primary focus on defense. For General Syndulla, you want to use a SPEED mod here with a secondary focus on speed, health, defense and protection.
- Holo-Array (Triangle) – The Holo-Array is a very specialized mod that can have a primary focus on critical chance, critical damage, health, protection, offense and defense. For General Syndulla, you want to use a SPEED mod here with a primary focus on Health/Protection/Defense and a secondary focus on speed, potency, health and defense/protection.
- Data-Bus (Circle) – The Data-bus mod always has a primary focus on either health or protection, so use an SPEED mod with a Health or Protection primary since General Syndulla benefits from both stats. The secondary focus stats should be speed, potency, health and defense/protection.
- Multiplexer (Plus) – The Multiplexer (plus or cross) mod can have a primary focus on potency, tenacity, health, protection, defense offense. For General Syndulla, you want to use a SPEED mod here with a Health/Protection/Defense focus, making sure to have your mod sets complete. For the secondary stats, look to add speed, health, defense and protection.
