Welcome to the Best Mods for Jabba the Hutt, the latest in my series of “best mods in SWGoH” articles, as we cover the Galactic Legend characters in Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes. Today’s hero, Jabba the Hutt, is the leader of the Hutt Cartel and has a ton of use in the game. Over the years I have written literally hundreds of mod guides, including almost all of the original best mods guides over at Gaming-fans.com. Now that my days with Gaming Fans are behind me, I am working to keep the same kind of content going as I resume the “best mods” series today covering one of the most well-know Star Wars characters of all-time with the Best Mods for Jabba the Hutt.
As I mentioned above, Jabba the Hutt is the leader of the Hutt Cartel faction in Galaxy of Heroes and is one of the most well-known characters in Star Wars despite such a small storyline in Return of the Jedi. Released in the Fall of 2022, Jabba the Hutt is a Dark Side, Support, Galactic Legend and Leader, and a member of Bounty Hunter, Smuggler and Hutt Cartel factions. Let’s take a look at how we want to mod Jabba to build on this character’s fantastic abilities.
Note that I have been told that I can get a bit long-winded when writing these mod guides. As a result, if you simply want the TL;DR on how to mod Jabba the Hutt, it is below.
Main Mod Stats to focus on…
My Jabba the Hutt gets used in almost every part of the game today, in the RoTE Territory Battle, Grand Arena Championships, Territory Wars, Galactic Challenges, the way-too-time-consuming Smuggler’s Run II event and more. As a Support character Jabba does not lead the offensive charge on his teams, but he instead fills his role and fills it well, assisting his Hutt Cartel members, cleansing them, rebuffing enemies and using his Rancor to insta-kill enemies as well. Statistically speaking, Jabba the Hutt is tied with Sith Eternal Emperor as the two slowest Galactic Legend characters, albeit at a 365 base speed with is still ~160 faster than all non-Galactic Legends in the game. His base Health stat is 8th highest in the game, but his base Protection and Armor stats are just average. Throw in the Bonus Protection and Protection Up that can come from his kit, and Health is a stat you want to really focus in on when it comes to survivability. One often forgotten area is Tenacity, which is quite notable with Jabba as he has the 7th highest base Tenacity in SWGoH, starting at 104% at Gear 13 and above, before mods.
Which Mod Sets to use & Dev Recommendations for Jabba the Hutt:
Personally, the 365 base Speed and 10% boost from a set of four Speed mods is too good to pass up for me. The developers at EA Capital Games suggest Speed & Health sets, which I agree with 100%, and the top players in the Kyber Division of SWGoH agree as well (because they read my articles, of course). Definitely seek out additional Potency to help stick his debuffs, and get percentage Health gains from the secondary mod stats when possible. With all of this in mind, here is what I am recommending for the best mods for Jabba the Hutt:
- Transmitter (Square) – The Transmitter mod always has a primary focus on offense. For Jabba the Hutt, you want to use a HEALTH mod here and be sure to closely look at the secondary stats to ensure that you get a heavy secondary focus on speed, health, potency and defense or protection.
- Receiver (Arrow) – The Receiver mod can have a primary focus on several stats including speed, critical avoidance, accuracy, health, protection, defense and offense. For Jabba the Hutt, you want to use a HEALTH mod here with a primary focus on speeding a secondary focus on health, potency and defense, tenacity or protection.
- Processor (Diamond) – The Processor is always going to have a primary focus on defense. For Jabba the Hutt, you want to use a SPEED mod here with a secondary focus on speed, health, potency and defense or protection.
- Holo-Array (Triangle) – The Holo-Array is a very specialized mod that can have a primary focus on critical chance, critical damage, health, protection, offense and defense. For Jabba the Hutt, you want to use a SPEED mod here with a primary focus on Health and a secondary focus on speed, health, potency and defense or protection.
- Data-Bus (Circle) – The Data-bus mod always has a primary focus on either health or protection, so use a SPEED mod with a focus on Health because Jabba benefits greatly from a high Health stat. The secondary focus stats should be speed, health, potency and defense or protection.
- Multiplexer (Plus) – The Multiplexer (plus or cross) mod can have a primary focus on potency, tenacity, health, protection, defense offense. For Jabba the Hutt, you want to use a SPEED mod here with a Health focus, making sure to have your mod sets complete. For the secondary stats, look to add speed, health, potency and defense or protection.
