As more characters are added to SWGoH, we cannot ignore how older characters are impacted and how the game continues to evolve. Today I start the Best Mods for Captain Enoch, the newest character in Galaxy of Heroes. Years ago I launched Gaming-fans.com and started the “best mods” series of articles which turned out to be what put the site on the radar of the community and with EA Capital Games. As a member of the SWGoH GameChangers, the Website got even more attention as I attempted to expand into other areas of the game and even other games, constantly struggling to find the balance in the Force needed to do so. While my days with Gaming-fans.com are now behind me, I am working to keep building on what I saw as my strength all along – the “best mods in SWGoH” series as today I review the Best Mods for Captain Enoch in SWGoH.
Here is the SWGoH explanation of Captain Enoch: “Ominous captain of the guard who keeps his forces fighting even at the edge of defeat” Like the recently-added Night Trooper and Death Trooper (Peridea), Captain Enoch has an Imperial Remnant tag, but until the Galactic Legend variant of Grand Admiral Thrown is released in 2025, it feels like the faction will remain incomplete for some time.
A quick note. If I am too wordy for you, as I have learned I can be a bit a bit long-winded at times, check out the new Best Mods for Captain Enoch TL;DR that I have added below.
Main Mod Stats to focus on…
Jumping ahead a bit, the devs say that Captain Enoch should get a Speed set and a Health set. What I struggle with is that Captain Enoch starts with a base Speed of just 173, MUCH slower than most character I recommend a speed set on. However, while Night Trooper and DTP are close in speed, neither is a speed set candidate as they are the damage dealers, so you want to have Captain Enoch taking the first turn on this team. So with that in mind, I would not strip mods with +25 speed secondaries off of existing characters but rather farm more speed mods or use some you have left over if you have a deep mod inventory like me. There is also a +15 Speed boost from his leadership for Imperial Remnant allies to factor into this.
So with all of that, it seems like speed is going to be a key stat to focus on as is all survivability. Enoch as a leader already adds +50% Critical Avoidance and essentially nullifies enemy CC while adding significant Defense to himself for each Imperial Remnant ally, so defense is a very wise investment. His base Armor stat is in the upper 30% of all SWGoH characters, and the addition of 75% for each other Imperial Remnant ally is going to make him thick. I can envision Enoch with a Datacron that adds a ton of defense being very difficult to kill in the future of SWGoH. Adding Health and Protection is going to help that survivability, and a bit of Potency will help with the TM removal and negative status effects.
Which Mod Sets to use & Dev Recommendations
As I have said many times before, the developers and I tend to agree on new characters. My initial thought with Captain Enoch is Defense mods and a speed set. Once again, not your top-tier speed mods, but rather some mid-range speed modes to get the speed set 10% bonus. The developers say a Health set over a Defense set, and really both can work well if you have the right secondary stats, just be sure to add significant survivability. Here is what I am recommending for the best mods for Captain Enoch:
-
- Transmitter (Square) – The Transmitter mod always has a primary focus on offense. For Captain Enoch, you want to use a HEALTH/DEFENSE mod here and be sure to closely look at the secondary stats to ensure that you get a heavy secondary focus on speed, defense, potency and health.
- Receiver (Arrow) – The Receiver mod can have a primary focus on several stats including speed, critical avoidance, accuracy, health, protection, defense and offense. For Captain Enoch, you want to use a SPEED mod here with a primary focus on speed and a secondary focus on health, defense, offense and potency or protection.
- Processor (Diamond) – The Processor is always going to have a primary focus on defense. For Captain Enoch, you want to use a SPEED mod here with a secondary focus on speed, defense, potency and health.
- Holo-Array (Triangle) – The Holo-Array is a very specialized mod that can have a primary focus on critical chance, critical damage, health, protection, offense and defense. For Captain Enoch, you want to use a HEALTH/DEFENSE mod here with a primary focus on Health or Defense and a secondary focus on speed, defense, health and potency or protection.
- Data-Bus (Circle) – The Data-bus mod always has a primary focus on either health or protection, and Captain Enoch benefits from both a high Health or high Protection stat, so use a SPEED mod with a Health primary. The secondary focus stats should be on speed, defense, health and potency or protection.
- Multiplexer (Plus) – The Multiplexer (plus or cross) mod can have a primary focus on potency, tenacity, health, protection, defense offense. For Captain Enoch, you want to use a SPEED mod here with a focus on Health or Defense, making sure to have your mod sets complete. For the secondary stats, look to add speed, defense, health and offense, potency or protection.
