Night Trooper - SWGoH

SWGoH: Best Mods for Night Trooper

Posted on July 6, 2024February 3, 2025 by ljcool110

As more characters are added to SWGoH, we cannot ignore how older characters are impacted and how the game continues to evolve. Today I start the Best Mods for Night Trooper, the newest character in Galaxy of Heroes. Years ago I launched Gaming-fans.com and started the “best mods” series of articles which turned out to be what put the site on the radar of the community and with EA Capital Games. As a member of the SWGoH GameChangers, the Website got even more attention as I attempted to expand into other areas of the game and even other games, constantly struggling to find the balance in the Force needed to do so. While my days with Gaming-fans.com are now behind me, I am working to keep building on what I saw as my strength all along – the “best mods in SWGoH” series as today I review the Best Mods for Night Trooper in SWGoH.

Here is the SWGoH explanation of Night Trooper: “A relentless Attacker who spreads Blight among their foes.” Meant to be used alongside Nightsisters or with Imperial Remnant units, the Night Trooper has solid offensive stats.

A quick note. If I am too wordy for you, as I have learned I can be a bit a bit long-winded at times, check out the new Best Mods for Night Trooper TL;DR that I have added below.

Main Mod Stats to focus on…

For Night Trooper, he has solid Physical Damage and Potency stats and the ability to land several debuffs on his attacks while also gaining turn meter. He gains +35% Potency from his unique, Inevitable End, and gains 10% Offense (stacking) and 5 Speed (stacking, Max 100) when damaged by an enemy attack. Worth noting, if used under a Mother Talzin lead, Night Trooper gains +50% Potency and +30 Speed and can inflict Plague when using a Special Ability, but Night Trooper is designed to work with Captain Enoch or Great Mothers as the leader. Also worth noting, Imperial Remnant allies gain +35% CC and 35% Offense thanks to Death Trooper (Peridea)’s unique.

Which Mod Sets to use & Dev Recommendations

As I have said many times before, the developers and I tend to agree on new characters. My initial thought with Night Trooper was to go with a set of two Critical Chance and four Critical Damage mods, but the devs recommend Offense and CC for a reason. When you look at the kit and the potential for stacking Offense, it shows that a set of Offense mods is a better choice. Because of the CC set, the Triangle should therefore be a Critical Damage focus, but for anyone going for a non-CC set I would recommend an Offense focus from the Triangle unless you have crazy good secondary CC gains. Here is what I am recommending for the best mods for Night Trooper:

    • Transmitter (Square) – The Transmitter mod always has a primary focus on offense. For Night Trooper, you want to use a CRITICAL CHANCE mod here and be sure to closely look at the secondary stats to ensure that you get a heavy secondary focus on speed, health, offense and potency.
    • Receiver (Arrow) – The Receiver mod can have a primary focus on several stats including speed, critical avoidance, accuracy, health, protection, defense and offense. For Night Trooper, you want to use a CRITICAL CHANCE mod here with a primary focus on speed and a secondary focus on offense, potency, critical chance and health or defense.
    • Processor (Diamond) – The Processor is always going to have a primary focus on defense. For Night Trooper, you want to use a OFFENSE mod here with a secondary focus on speed, offense, health and potency.
    • Holo-Array (Triangle) – The Holo-Array is a very specialized mod that can have a primary focus on critical chance, critical damage, health, protection, offense and defense. For Night Trooper, you want to use a OFFENSE mod here with a primary focus on Critical Damage or Offense (see above) and a secondary focus on speed, offense, potency and critical chance, health or defense.
    • Data-Bus (Circle) – The Data-bus mod always has a primary focus on either health or protection, and Night Trooper benefits a bit more from a high Health stat, so use a OFFENSE mod with a Health primary. The secondary focus stats should be speed, offense, health and potency or critical chance.
    • Multiplexer (Plus) – The Multiplexer (plus or cross) mod can have a primary focus on potency, tenacity, health, protection, defense offense. For Night Trooper, you want to use a OFFENSE mod here with a focus on Offense or Potency, making sure to have your mod sets complete. For the secondary stats, look to add speed, offense, health and potency or critical chance.

Night Trooper Mods TL;DR

  • Square – Critical Chance mod with speed & offense
  • Arrow – Critical Chance mod, Speed focus with offense
  • Diamond – Offense mod with speed & offense
  • Triangle – Offense mod, Critical Damage focus with speed & offense
  • Circle – Offense mod, Health focus with speed & offense
  • Plus – Offense mod, Offense/Potency focus with speed & offense
